MPSC Exam Pattern 2024

The MPSC has recently revised its Mains syllabus. The revised syllabus makes the exam pattern more descriptive. The MPSC Mains exam now includes 9 papers instead of six papers and total marks is 1,750 marks. The two language papers have been made qualifying in nature and will not count towards the merit score. The revised Mains pattern includes one essay paper, four general studies papers, and two papers on one optional subject chosen from a list of 26 subjects. The MPSC exam consists of three stages: Preliminary, Main, and Interview, aimed at selecting the best candidates for various posts in Maharashtra. MPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2024

  • Incorrect answers incur a penalty of 1/4 of the marks allocated to that question.
  • Selecting two answers for a question results in a negative marking of 25% of the total marks assigned to that question.
  • Decision-making questions (Paper II, questions 74-80) do not have negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Both Paper I and Paper II contribute to the merit ranking for qualifying for the MPSC mains exam.
