Recently at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards for the years 2022 and 2023 to nursing professionals. Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Prof S P Baghel and other dignitaries were also present.

The National Florence Nightingale Awards was established in 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.

  • These prestigious awards are named after Florence Nightingale, widely regarded as the pioneer of modern nursing.

Recently, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the Governor of Bihar, officially inaugurated the thematic event organized by the engagement group of Labour 20 (L20) at Gyan Bhawan in Patna.

Labour 20 (L20) meet 2023

The ongoing L-20 summit focuses on the important topics of ‘Universal Social Security’ and ‘Women and Future of Work’. These subjects were extensively discussed during the inception meeting of L-20 held in Amritsar from March 19 to 21, 2023.

  • Following the discussions, a joint statement was issued on two key areas:
    • Social Security and International Portability of Social Security Fund, as well as
    • Women and the Future of Work.
  • Labour 20 (L20) meet 2023 held in Patna, Bihar from 21st-23rd June 2023.
  • A total of 173 delegates from 28 countries, including India, will take part in this conference.

G20 Labour and Employment Ministers Meet

Following the conclusion of the L-20 summit, a meeting of Labour and Employment ministers is planned to be held in Indore next month. During this meeting, the G-20 Labour and Employment ministers will gather to discuss important matters, and the declaration adopted during the Labour 20 Summit will be presented to them. The objective of this presentation is to transform the declaration into a formal policy.

Recently, the PM-Kisan Mobile App with Face Authentication Feature was launched by Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar. PM Kisan Mobile App was launched under the widely acclaimed scheme “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi,”. This launch aims to provide income support to farmers and is a part of the central government’s determined efforts in this regard.

The PM-Kisan Mobile App, equipped with the Face Authentication Feature, serves as an exemplary utilization of modern technology.

  • With this feature, farmers can conveniently complete their e-KYC process remotely, without the need for OTP or fingerprint verification.
  • This innovation has not only facilitated the e-KYC process for individual farmers but has also empowered them to assist around 100 fellow farmers in completing their e-KYC from the comfort of their homes.
  • Recognizing the significance of e-KYC, the Government of India has extended the authority to officers of state governments, enabling each officer to carry out the e-KYC process for up to 500 farmers.
