The inauguration of CGHS Wellness Centres in Chandigarh and Panchkula was recently carried out by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. This makes Panchkula the 80th city with CGHS facilities fulfilling a long cherished demand of the employees and pensioners in the city.

With an existing CGHS Wellness Centre in Chandigarh that serves around 47,000 registered beneficiaries, the inauguration of the second Wellness Centre brings significant relief to these beneficiaries.

  • The workload will now be shared between the two centres, leading to reduced waiting times and ultimately contributing to an improved quality of life for the citizens.
  • The establishment of these two wellness centres will have a substantial impact in alleviating the challenges faced by pensioners residing in not just the Chandigarh-Panchkula-Mohali tricity area, but also in the surrounding regions of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.

Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, Minister of State for Culture, inaugurated an exhibition titled “Hamari Bhasha, Hamari Virasat” at the National Archives of India, New Delhi.

  • The “Hamari Bhasha, Hamari Virasat” exhibition was organized under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) initiative and aimed to commemorate the 75th International Archives Day.
  • On the occasion of International Archives Day, National Archives of India has made available the Gilgit Manuscripts written between the 5″ -6″ centuries CE, which is the oldest surviving manuscript collection in India.

The “Hamari Bhasha, Hamari Virasat” exhibition is an endeavour to commemorate the treasured heritage of India’s linguistic diversity as a Nation: “राष्ट्र एक भाषा अनेक” India is blessed with extraordinary language diversity.

  • According to an estimate out of 7,111 languages spoken globally, about 788 languages are spoken in India alone.
  • India is thus one of the four most linguistically diversified countries in the world, along with Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Nigeria.
  • The exhibition showcases a curated collection of original manuscripts sourced from the archival repository, including significant documents like the birch-bark Gilgit manuscripts, Tattvartha Sutra, Ramayana, Srimad Bhagwad Gita, and more.
  • It also features official government files, banned literature from the colonial era, private manuscripts of renowned personalities, and rare books from the NAI Library’s extensive collection.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), based in New Delhi, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon Kisan.

  • By partnering with Amazon Kisan under this MoU, ICAR seeks to ensure that consumers across India, including those using Amazon Fresh, have access to high-quality fresh produce.

The successful pilot project between ICAR-KVK (Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Krishi Vigyan Kendra) and Amazon in Pune has served as a catalyst for expanding their collaboration. Krishi Vigyan Kendras will play a crucial role in strengthening this collaboration by utilizing their technological base to transfer knowledge and conduct capacity-building programs.
