The Yoga Mahotsav 2023 witnessed an exhilarating atmosphere as more than 15,000 enthusiasts performed Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), along with dignitaries, at the sprawling ground of Shri Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti.

  • The Yoga Mahotsav was a celebration to commemorate 50 days to upcoming International Day of Yoga, 2023.
  • The participants performed Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) in complete rhythm and harmony with a mesmerising outcome.
  • The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) marked the 50-day countdown to the International Day of Yoga with a celebration called the Yoga Mahotsav.
  • The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) operates under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

50 Day Countdown for International Day of Yoga

With the aim of promoting Medical Value Travel in Rajasthan through Yoga, the Ministry of Ayush is collaborating with the state government of Rajasthan, local authorities, and multiple institutions to organize the event.

  • The Yoga Mahotsav 2023 event will take place at the Sports Ground of Shri Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti in Jaipur, starting from tomorrow, the 2nd of May 2023.
  • The Ministry of Ayush is considering the idea of holding Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) demonstrations at significant ports worldwide, encompassing all oceans.
  • They are currently in discussions with the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Ministry of Defence, and Indian Navy to plan the “Ocean Ring for Yoga” program.

Yoga Mahotsav 2023 is an event of Ministry of Ayush that commemorates countdown to the 9th edition of International Day of Yoga 2023.

  • The Yoga Mahotsav 2023 will witness the auspicious presence and discourses by eminent dignitaries including revered Yoga Gurus, eminent Yoga Masters, experts of Ayush, delegates and Yoga enthusiasts.
  • Yoga Mahotsav 2023 has been organized for three days on 13, 14 and 15th March 2023 to commemorate 100days countdown to the 9th edition of International Day of Yoga 2023.

As a part of its 64th anniversary celebration, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is conducting a “Ekta Evam Shradhanjali Abhiyan”.

Ekta Evam Shradhanjali Abhiyan is a multi-modal expedition to honor and remember the sacrifices and contributions of its Karmyogis towards nation-building.

  • A team of motorcyclists and motorists has embarked on a multi-modal expedition, which began from the Northern and Northeastern regions of India.
  • The motorcycle segment of the expedition started on 14th April 2023 from Kibithu, Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Participants from 18 different projects have gathered soil, water, and saplings from 108 remote border areas.
  • These items will be planted at BRO Alma Mater, BRO School, and Centre located in Pune.
  • On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the BRO’s founding, the Raksha Rajya Mantri, Shri Ajay Bhatt, will welcome the expedition teams to Pune on May 7th, 2023.

Recently, the Indian Navy and the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) carried out the first successful trial of ‘ADC-150’ from an IL 38SD aircraft, situated off the coast of Goa.

The ‘ADC-150’ is a domestically created Air Droppable Container with the ability to carry a payload of up to 150 kg.

  • The recent trial of ‘ADC-150’ container was performed from an IL 38SD aircraft located off the coast of Goa.
  • The trial of ‘ADC-150’ container aimed to strengthen the logistical capabilities of the Indian Navy by enabling swift response to fulfill the need for crucial engineering stores to ships facing distress, deployed more than 2,000 kilometers away from the coast.
  • As a result, the necessity for ships to approach the coast to acquire spares and stores is reduced.
  • The development of the ADC-150 container involved three DRDO laboratories, namely-
    • The Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL) in Visakhapatnam,
    • The Aerial Delivery Research & Development Establishment (ADRDE) in Agra, and
    • The Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) located in Bengaluru.
