The UGC NET Exam Pattern has been discussed on this page. Like most of the Govt. Exams, UGC NET is also conducted for two papers, Paper I and Paper II. The questions asked in both the papers are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with no negative marking.

UGC NET Exam Pattern For Paper I
As per the NTA norms for NET Paper I, “The questions will be generic in nature, intending to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.” Check out the table that is given below for a broad understanding.

UGC NET Paper-II
As per the NTA norms, Paper-II will be based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge. Like Paper I, this paper will also be of MCQ with four options for every question asked.
Points To Note For UGC NET Paper I & Paper II
- The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with four (4) options.
- For each correct answer, the candidate will get 2 marks.
- There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in UGC NET 2021 Exam.
- No marks will be given for questions Unanswered/Marked for Review.
UGC NET Marking Scheme 2021
As mentioned above the UGC NET Exam comprises two papers, Paper I and Paper-II. Two marks (2) are awarded for every correct answer. There is no negative marking for any incorrect answer.
