• Grand opening: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Games at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
• Services emerged victorious: The Services Sports Control Board topped the medal tally with 147 golds, followed by Haryana (60) and Maharashtra (57).

The National Game of India for 2023, also known as the 37th National Games and informally as Goa 2023, took place from October 26th to November 9th, 2023, in the state of Goa.

• Maharashtra’s victory: After 29 years, Maharashtra emerged victorious in the medal tally, bagging 120 golds, followed by Services (81) and Haryana (62). 29 teams secured at least one gold medal, showcasing widespread success.
• First time in Goa: This marked Goa’s debut as a host state, with competitions occurring across five cities.
