Moon Landing 2023: on Wednesday August 23, 2023, at approximately 6:04 pm, Chandrayaan-3’s lunar landed Sucessfully down on the Moon. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) envisions that this remarkable event ( Moon Landing 2023) will ignite enthusiasm and inquisitiveness among the younger generation, fostering a deeper interest in the realm of space exploration.

Nasa Moon Landing 2023

Moon Landing 2023: BENGALURU, Aug 23  – Marking a pivotal moment for lunar exploration and reaffirming India’s prowess in space, an Indian lunar module touched down on the moon on Wednesday, coming shortly after a Russian lander met a mishap.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Moon landing 2023

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently in South Africa for the BRICS summit, hailed the achievement, stating, “This resonates as a triumphant declaration from a rejuvenated India.” Modi could be seen proudly waving the Indian flag while observing the landing.

Amidst exuberant displays of applause and embraces, scientists and officials celebrated the successful landing. As the government seeks to foster increased investments in private space launches and satellite-oriented enterprises, the achievement holds the promise of a vibrant future for the country’s space endeavors.

S.Somanath on Moon Landing 2023

“India has reached the moon,” declared S. Somanath, the head of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), upon the successful touchdown of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the southern pole of the lunar surface.

This marked India’s second endeavor to achieve a lunar landing, coming within a week of Russia’s Luna-25 mission setback. Across the nation, people remained transfixed to their television screens, offering prayers as the spacecraft descended towards the moon’s surface.

Moon Landing Mission2023 – Chandrayaan 3

Back in 2019, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 mission effectively positioned an orbiter in space, though its lander experienced an unfortunate crash.

With Chandrayaan-3, a operational span of two weeks is anticipated, during which it will conduct an array of experiments. These endeavors encompass a spectroscopic examination of the lunar surface’s mineral composition.

The complexity of the southern pole’s rugged landscape makes landing there challenging, rendering a successful touchdown a truly historic milestone. Notably, the presence of ice within this region could potentially serve as a resource for fuel, oxygen, and potable water in forthcoming lunar ventures.

“Exploring the moon’s south pole through landing offers India the chance to ascertain the presence of water ice on the lunar surface. This discovery holds immense significance for accumulating geological data and advancing lunar science,” explained Carla Filotico, a partner and managing director at SpaceTec Partners, a consultancy specializing in space.

Chandrayaan-3 Achieves Flawless Moon Landing 2023

Moon Landing 2023: A monumental moment in history has been etched as India takes its place as the first nation to gracefully touch down on the lunar South Pole. Prime Minister Modi conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to both the nation’s citizens and the diligent space scientists responsible for this extraordinary feat. “This day will forever be etched in India’s memory,” stated PM Modi.

The ultimate challenge of the mission unfolded during the concluding phase of the landing. Just under 20 minutes prior to touchdown, ISRO initiated the Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS). This mechanism empowered the Vikram Lunar Module (LM) to assume control, utilizing its onboard computers and logical systems to pinpoint an optimal landing site and execute a gentle landing on the moon’s surface.

Experts underline the immense significance of the final 15 to 20 minutes of the mission, when the Vikram lander of Chandrayaan-3 gracefully descended to its soft landing point. With fervent prayers emanating from India and around the globe, today marked a momentous occasion of anticipation and hope for Chandrayaan-3’s triumphant landing.

Reflecting on the past, where India’s second lunar mission faced an unfortunate setback within the final moments of landing, ISRO exhibited heightened caution during this endeavor. Due to the inherent risk associated with the spacecraft during the moon’s descent, this phase has been aptly termed the “20 or 17 minutes of terror” by many. During this critical period, the process transitioned into full autonomy, with the Vikram lander igniting its engines with precision at the correct altitudes and times.
