Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) conducts exams for various posts in state governmental departments. The exams take place annually. HPSC (State Service Exam) is held in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview. This exam is highly competitive and lakhs of students appear for it annually to join the prestigious jobs in the state government like SDM, DSP, Tehsildar, etc. Following the IAS exam pattern aspirants who clear the prelim exam are allowed to appear for the main exam. The number of candidates admitted to appear for the main exam is fifteen times more than the number of available vacancies.
