Punjab State TET Notification Out 2019
State Council of Educational Research & Training(SCERT), Punjab has released notification regarding Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2018 for teachers who want to teach for Primary Class (Paper 1)& Upper primary Class (Paper 2) in punjab schools. PSTET will be going to held on 15th Dec 2019.
Registration Process:
- Opening date for online application form: 3 Nov 2019
- Last date for online application form: 25 Nov 2019
- Online Correction Schedule: 26 Nov 2019 : 28 Nov 2019
- Download Admit Card: 9 Dec 2019
- Examination Date: 15 Dec 2019
Eligibility Criteria for TET:
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: (Primary Stage):
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
Candidates who possessed “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. Such Candidates has mandatory to undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as primary teacher.
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
OR
Any candidate having qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET exam.
PSTET Examination Pattern:
There will be two papers of PSTET DEC 2019 :
- Paper I will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes I to V.
- Paper II will be for a person who intents to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note: A person who intents to teach for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Validity Of PSTET 2019:
The Validity Period of TET qualifying certificate for appointment will be maximum of seven years for all categories.
