KVS Teacher Salary 2024 For PGT, TGT, PRT, Check Revised Pay Scales

The Salary of KVS Teachers i.e. PGT, TGT, PRT will be released as per the 7th pay commission. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has officially released the salary details for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), and Primary Teachers (PRTs). KVS has released the official notice regarding increasing certain allowances i.e. Children Education Allowance (CEA), Hostel Subsidy, and Special Allowance for Child Care by 25% after the enhancement of Dearness Allowances.

Earlier the Dearness Allowance (DA) for KVS teachers has increased to 50%, effective from Jan 1, 2024. The revised salary structure includes details on Basic Pay, New DA, Revised House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners. KVS Increase Allowances

Effective January 1, 2024, the Central government implemented a revised reimbursement structure for Central Government employees. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) announced a boost for Central Government employees with disabilities and their families. Following a Dearness Allowance increase, KVS has upgraded Children’s Education Allowance, Hostel Subsidy, and the Special Child Care Allowance for women with disabilities by a significant 25%. KVS Increase Dearness Allowance (DA) in Salary

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced 4 % increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) i.e. 50 % for its teachers, effective from 1 January 2024. KVS House Rent Allowance(HRA)

HRA varies as per the city you are living in. It is mostly higher in X & Y cities than in Z cities. The rate of HRA will be calculated as 30 %, 20% and 10 % for X, Y, and Z class cities respectively. KVS Transport Allowance (TA)

The transport allowance is given to cater to the daily travelling needs of the employee. The Employees posted in the cities will get Rs.3600 as TA whereas the Employees posted at all other places will get Rs.1800 as TA.


The DA on TA has also been revised and will be calculated on the 50% Dearness Allowance. DA on TA will be given on 2 categories of cities i.e. High TPTA and Other Cities. The central Government Employee from High TPTA city will get Rs.1800. KVS DA on TA will remain the same for a post with Grade Pay Rs. 4200, Rs.4600 and Rs,4800 i.e. PRT TGT PGT.

How to Calculate DA?

Dearness allowance is calculated based on the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers Base Year 2001=100. The index has been released by the Labour Bureau every month.
  • 7th CPC DA Percentage = (12 Monthly Average) – 261.42) / 261.42 x 100

KVS Children Education Allowance (CEA)

The Children Education Allowance (CEA) is a financial benefit provided by the Indian government to Central Government employees, which includes KVS teachers. It aims to help them meet the education-related expenses of their children.

Special Allowance for Child Care (Women with Disabilities)

The Special Allowance for Child Care (Women with Disabilities) is a financial benefit provided by the Indian government specifically to women with disabilities who are Central Government employees. It aims to offer additional support in managing the unique challenges they might face in caring for young children. Here’s a breakdown of the Special Allowance for Child Care (Women with Disabilities):

  • Eligibility: This allowance is exclusively for women with disabilities who are employed by the Central Government, including potentially KVS teachers.
