UGC NET Exam Date 2024 Out, Exam Time, Shift and Schedule

UGC NET Exam Date 2024

The UGC NET Exam 2024 will be conducted on 18 June 2024 in offline mode. The exam will be held in two shifts- Shift 1 (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and Shift 2 (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM).

The three-hour long exam consists of two parts- UGC NET Paper 1 on Teaching and Research Aptitude and NET Paper 2 on a specific subject. The final subject-wise UGC NET Exam Date June 2024 schedule will be issued 2 weeks before the exam dates.

UGC NET Exam Schedule and Shifts

The UGC NET 2024 exam for the June session will be conducted in offline format this year. Here’s a breakdown of the details:

  • Exam Dates: The exam will be held on 18 June 2024
  • Exam Time: There were two shifts of offline examination:
    • Morning Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
    • Afternoon Shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility Criteria for UGC NET Exam 2024 has been provided below.

  • General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates must secure a minimum of 55% marks in their Master’s Degree or an equivalent examination from universities or institutions recognized by the UGC. 5 % Relaxation will be provided to other categories i.e. SC/ST/OBC
  • OR Candidates holding a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 75% marks.

UGC NET Age Limit 2024

The age limit for applying for NET JRF should not be more than 30 years as on 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 1 June 2024. The detailed age limit category-wise has been explained below.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2024

UGC NET Notification has been released, candidates must check the exam pattern and syllabus of UGC NET to get an in-depth idea of the structure of the exam. Candidates will have to appear for both Paper I and Paper II with a total of 150 questions worth 300 marks mandatorily. Paper I is a General Aptitude Test, while Paper II is a subject-specific paper.

UGC NET 2024 Exam Center

The UGC NET Exam Centre list has been released by the NTA along with the official notification. Candidates are required to review the list of exam centers in order to select and mark their top three preferences while filling out the UGC NET application form for 2024. Since the UGC NET Exam 2024 is a national-level exam, exam centers will be allocated across all states of India.
