The Punjab PTI exam is conducted in two papers, and the written test is an objective-type paper with multiple choice questions. Punjab PTI Exam Pattern 2026

The Punjab PTI exam pattern has two papers plus a Physical Eligibility Test. Paper 1 is the Punjabi Language qualifying test, and only candidates who clear this paper get their Paper 2 conducted, which is the 70-mark departmental written test.

Candidates should also note that if a candidate opts for the Punjabi language paper instead of the qualifying test, the written test itself will be of 70 marks objective type.

The Punjabi qualifying paper syllabus, applicable to candidates appearing for the 2000 PTI (Primary Cadre) posts, is based on the Class 10 level and is split into grammar and literature sections.

Physical Eligibility Test (PET)

Candidates must qualify in 3 out of 5 components to clear the PET, which remains qualifying only and does not carry merit marks.
