1st February – Indian Coast Guard Day

6th February: International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation

United Nations declared 6th February as the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation in 2003. The aim is to promote awareness about Female Genital Mutilation which includes procedures altering or injuring the female genitals for non-medical purposes. Female Genital Mutilation is recognised as a violation of the human rights, integrity and health of women and girls.

8th February – Safer Internet Day

The Safer Internet Day is observed on the 8th of February to promote responsible and safer use of the Internet and online technology by children and young individuals across the globe. The theme for the Safer Internet Day 2023 is “Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online”.

10th February – National Deworming Day

On 10th February 2023, National Deworming Day is observed to promote awareness among parents and children about the health concerns caused by worms. The Initiative is taken by the  Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to eliminate the cases of Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH) which are commonly known as parasitic intestinal worms, among all children and adolescents.

10th February – World Pulses Day

World Pulse Day is celebrated on 10th February every year to promote awareness about the nutritional benefits of eating Pulses across the world. Pulses are the edible seeds of leguminous plants cultivated for both food and feed which has great nutritional values. People should include pulse in their daily diet to see drastically positive changes in their health.

11th February – World Day of the Sick

11th February was declared the World Day of the Sick by Saint John Paul II in 1992. 20th February – World Day of Social Justice
