REET Full Form: REET is a teachers eligibility test conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER). REET is a state level examination to determine eligibility, essential for the teacher’s recruitment process. The REET examination has two parts- Primary and Upper Primary. Candidates opting to teach classes 1 to 5 (Primary) need to sit for Paper I examination and for 5 to 8 (Upper Primary), candidates need to appear for Paper-II. Candidates qualifying for the REET certification will be able to apply for government teaching jobs in Rajasthan. What is the REET Full Form?

The full form of REET is Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers. The REET is conducted once a year to advance the process of hiring or recruitment for teachers in government schools across Rajasthan. The teachers will be able to teach classes from 1 to 8 after clearing both the papers of the examination. After clearing the REET examination, candidates receive a certificate. The REET Certificate is valid for three years from the date of issue.

What Is REET Exam:

Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) has been entrusted with the sole duty of organizing the REET/RTET in the state of Rajasthan.

  • Candidates seeking a career in the education department can grab this opportunity as 32,000+ vacancies are expected to be filled this year. Candidates need to clear the REET Exam. BSER conducts two Papers for REET Recruitment i.e. Level I (Primary – For Class I to V) and Level II (Secondary – For Class VI to VIII).
  • After qualifying for this REET Exam candidate will become eligible for the post of teacher in Primary and Upper Primary Level in the state of Rajasthan.
  • Candidates must score 60% or above in the REET exam to qualify the REET Exam.
  • In accordance with NCTE Guidelines, REET Certificate shall be valid for a period of 3 years from the date of the TET examination.

REET Eligibility Criteria

Knowing about the REET examination and the Full form of REET is not enough. Candidates must also need to know about the eligibility criteria of REET. The eligibility criteria for Paper I and Paper II is different. See the below table to get a clear idea of the eligibility criteria of REET.

REET Exam: Age Limit

As per the REET Exam 2021 notification, there is no age limit for candidates to appear for the exam.

REET Exam Certificate: Validity

REET Exam Certificate is issued to the candidates qualifying for the exams. Once the results are out, the certificate is issued. The validity of the REET certificate is three years from the date of issue. The candidates qualifying the exam will be eligible to apply in various government schools with the help of this certificate.

REET Exam: Cut off Marks

As per the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the cut off marks for all the categories for the REET Exams from 2021 will be as follows:

REET Selection Process

Earlier, the ratio of the weightage carried by the REET results and the academic results of the candidates considered in their Selection for job was 70:30. That means, the REET results would carry 70% weightage and the academic results would carry 30% weightage during the selection process of the candidates for the government teaching jobs. However, this weightage system has been revised and now it is 90:10. That means, now the REET will have 90% weightage and the academic results will have only 10 % weightage during the selection process.
