OTET Eligibility Criteria 2025
The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) Exam 2025 will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSEO). The OTET Exam will be conducted offline in various Exam Centres across the state. The candidates must refer to the following table for further information.

What is OTET Eligibility?
The candidates should read the OTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 thoroughly. This will give them a comprehensive understanding of the OTET Eligibility Criteria and they will be able to ensure they meet the Odisha Eligibility Criteria. In case, the candidates fail to comply with the OTET Education Qualification, the candidate’s OTET Online Application Form will be rejected. - General Eligibility: He or she must be a citizen of India.
- Ability to Read and Write Odia: The candidate must be able to read and write in Odia. Any one of the following qualifications will be taken into consideration to ascertain the ability of the candidate
OTET Eligibility Criteria for Paper-I
Candidates fulfilling any one of the below-mentioned parameters meet OTET eligibility criteria 2025 for Category-A (Paper-I):
- Candidates should clear Class XII with at least 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/PwD candidates) aggregate marks. Also, candidates should possess a two-year diploma in Elementary Education (CT or D.El.Ed).
- Candidates should clear Class XII with at least 45 per cent (40 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/SEBC/PwD candidates) aggregate marks. Also, candidates should possess a two-year diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
- Candidates should clear Class XII with at least 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ PwD candidates) aggregate marks. Also, candidates should possess a four-year diploma in B.El.Ed.
- Candidates should clear Class XII with at least 50 percent (45 percent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ PwD candidates) aggregate marks. Also, candidates should possess a two-year diploma in Special Education.
- Candidates should clear a graduation in any stream. Also, candidates should possess a two-year diploma in Elementary Education/ Special Education
OTET Eligibility Criteria for Paper-II
Candidates fulfilling either of the following parameters meet the OTET eligibility criteria 2025 for Category-B (Paper II):
- Candidates should clear graduation with at least 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ PwD candidates) marks. Also, candidates should pass a one-year course in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
- Candidates should clear graduation with at least 45 per cent (40 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ PwD candidates) marks. Also, candidates should pass a one-year B.Ed course in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
- Candidates should clear graduation with at least 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ PwD candidates) marks. Also, candidates should pass a one-year course in B.Ed (Special Education).
- Candidates should clear Class XII with at least 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC/ PwD candidates) aggregate marks. Also, candidates should pass a four-year BA Ed/ BSc Ed course.
OTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 & Age Limit
The candidates must have to be above the age of 21 years. The upper age limit criteria prescribed by the BSEO as the OTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 is 32 years. Therefore, the candidates must be between the age limit bracket of 21 years to 32 years. The candidates who do not fall into the age limit bracket of 21 years to 32 years should not apply for the OTET exam 2025, as their candidature will not be accepted by the Board.
