OAVS Eligibility Criteria 2026

OAVS sets separate eligibility rules for each post. A candidate must be an Indian citizen and of sound mind. Every candidate must also know the Odia language up to the ME standard. Those who have not passed Odia up to this level can still apply, but they must clear an Odia language test after joining. For teaching posts, candidates need a bachelor’s degree along with a B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution. For TGT posts, candidates also need to clear OSSTET, OTET Paper-II, or CTET Paper-II. Candidates who only hold a Special B.Ed. or D.Ed. degree are not eligible for Principal, PGT, or TGT posts.
