The approval came through a notice dated 5 October 2026, issued on the proposal sent by the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS). The revision covers TGT Social Science, Mathematics, Science, Odia, English and Computer Science. OAVS Eligibility Criteria

OAVS Eligibility Criteria 2026 requires candidates to hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree along with a B.Ed degree from an NCTE-recognized institution and to know Odia up to the ME standard. TGT candidates must also qualify for OSSTET, OTET Paper-II, or CTET Paper-II, while age and qualification are counted as of 1st January of the recruitment year.

OAVS Art Teacher, PET and Computer Teacher posts need a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks in aggregate, and 45% for SC, ST, SEBC and PwD candidates, along with the post-specific degree. Proficiency in teaching through Odia and English is required for all three. The table below lists the qualification for each post.

Rules on Marks and Qualification

OAVS applies strict conditions to marks and qualification dates. These conditions decide eligibility at the time of document verification, so candidates should check them before applying.

The percentage of marks must be entered to two decimal places. Rounding off is not accepted, so 49.99% counts as less than 50% and 44.99% counts as less than 45%.
Candidates with CGPA or OGPA must convert it to a percentage under the university norms and carry the university certificate showing the conversion formula.
The date of result declaration or mark sheet issue counts as the date of acquiring the qualification, with no relaxation.
Degrees from universities outside Odisha need an equivalency certificate from a university in Odisha and NCTE recognition proof at the time of verification.
