Age Limit and Relaxation
The UPSC Principal and Vice-Principal upper age limit for both posts is fixed separately by category, with additional relaxation available for reserved categories and PwBD candidates. UPSC Principal and Vice-Principal Other Eligibility Conditions
Apart from qualification and age limit, candidates must also fulfil citizenship and other conditions laid down by UPSC. These conditions apply equally to both Principal and Vice Principal posts and must be met before the closing date of the application.
- Candidates must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specified East
- African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- OBC reservation will be given only to candidates who submit OBC certificates issued by the Government of NCT of Delhi.
- The application fee is Rs. 25, with complete fee exemption for Female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
- The Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) will be held on 1 November 2026, and the CRT-to-Interview weightage ratio is 75:25.
- The minimum suitability marks in the interview are 50 for UR/EWS, 45 for OBC, and 40 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
