BPSC TRE 4.0 Prelims Exam Pattern

BPSC TRE 4.0 Preliminary Test is common for all teacher categories, whether a candidate is applying for Primary, Middle, Secondary, or Higher Secondary posts. It consists of a single paper on General Studies only, and there is no separate language or subject paper at this stage. Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Test will need to fill a separate application to appear for the Main Examination. There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.

Note: The Preliminary Test is purely qualifying in nature, and marks scored here are not counted towards the final merit list, which is prepared on the basis of the Main Examination.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern (Class 1-5)

BPSC TRE 4.0 Primary Teacher (Classes 1-5) Main Examination will be conducted for 150 marks in two parts. Part I is a qualifying language paper covering English and Hindi/Urdu/Bangla, and marks obtained in this part are not counted towards the final merit. Part II is the main scoring section. There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer in the exam.

Primary Teacher candidates must focus their preparation on the General Studies section, since it carries 120 out of 150 marks and directly decides the final merit. The Language part only tests basic proficiency in English and the regional language and does not affect the score. BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern (Classes 6-8)

BPSC TRE 4.0 Middle School Teacher (Classes 6-8) Main Examination will be conducted for 150 marks in three parts. Along with the qualifying language paper and General Studies, candidates must also attempt a Concerned Subject paper based on the subject they choose while applying. There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.

Concerned Subject options: Maths & Science, Social Science, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, English (candidate chooses one).

BPSC TRE 4.0 Syllabus (Class 6-8)

Middle School Teacher candidates need to prepare both General Studies and their chosen Concerned Subject, since together these make up 120 of the 150 total marks. Candidates choosing Social Science must also decide their optional subject combination as specified by BPSC. The topics generally covered are listed below.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern (Class 9-10)

BPSC TRE 4.0 Secondary Teacher (Classes 9-10) and Special School Teacher (Classes 9-10) Main Examination will also be conducted for 150 marks in three parts, similar to the Middle School pattern. Candidates need to select one Concerned Subject from a wider list of options compared to Middle School level. Negative marking of 1/3 mark applies for each wrong answer.

Secondary Teacher candidates must prepare General Studies along with their chosen Concerned Subject at graduation level, since this section carries the largest weightage. Candidates opting for Science or Social Science subject groups should note the specific combination rules mentioned in the notification for their subject.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern (Class 11-12)

BPSC TRE 4.0 Higher Secondary Teacher (Classes 11-12) selection will also follow the two-stage process, a common Preliminary Test followed by a Main Examination. The Main Examination for Higher Secondary posts has the same three-part structure as Secondary level, but candidates get a much wider range of Concerned Subject options based on their Post Graduate specialization. Negative marking of 1/3 mark applies for each wrong answer in both stages.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Syllabus (Class 11-12)

Higher Secondary Teacher candidates must prepare General Studies for the Preliminary Test and additionally focus on their chosen Concerned Subject at Post Graduate level for the Main Examination, since the subject paper carries the highest weightage. BPSC has also specified fixed subject combinations at PG level for certain posts like Commerce, Botany/Zoology, and Math, which candidates must check carefully before selecting their subject.
