SBI CBO Eligibility Age Limit (As on 31/12/2025)

The minimum age required for the CBO post is 21 years, and the maximum age is 30 years. The candidate should have been born between 1st May 1995 and 30th April 2005. However, age relaxation is provided to SC/ST/PWBD/OBC/Ex-servicemen categories. The age relaxation is as follows:

Candidates seeking age relaxation are required to submit copies of necessary certificates(s) at the time of interview/joining, if qualified. No change in the category of any candidate is permitted after registration of online application

SBI CBO Eligibility Qualification

The academic requirement for the Circle-Based Officer post @SBI is given below:

• Candidates must have completed a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or hold an equivalent qualification acknowledged by the Central Government, including those with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD).
• Applicants with professional degrees such as Medicine, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, or Cost Accountancy are also eligible to apply.

Note: The official date of passing the qualifying exam will be considered as the date mentioned on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the university/institute. If the result is published online, then a certificate from the appropriate university/institute authority confirming the result date will be required.

SBI CBO Eligibility Experience

SBI CBO Eligibility Criteria 2026 lays down its emphasis on candidates having post-academic experience. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience (after completing the required academic qualification) as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or a Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.

SBI CBO Local Language Proficiency

Candidates applying for vacancies in a specific Circle must have the ability to read, write, and understand at least one of the designated local languages of that Circle (as listed below).

A language proficiency test in the selected local language will be part of the selection process. This test will be conducted after the online test, screening, and interview, but before joining the Bank. Those who can produce a 10th/12th standard mark sheet or certificate showing that they studied the chosen local language as a subject will be exempted from taking the test. Who Is NOT Eligible to Apply for SBI CBO 2026?

Some categories of candidates are NOT eligible to apply for Circle Based Officer post and it is as follows:

• Individuals employed with the subsidiaries of Scheduled Commercial Banks are not eligible to apply.
• Those currently working in clerical or supervisory roles at SBI, or employed on a contract basis, are not permitted to apply.
• Former SBI or Associate Bank officers who have resigned, as well as contractual employees who have left the bank, are also ineligible for this recruitment.
