TNPSC Group 2 2024 Application Form

The online application process for the TNPSC Group 2 and 2A Recruitment 2024 is over. Candidates need to do One Time Registration and then they can proceed to filling out the application form. Candidates must provide all the essential details and upload documents to complete the process.

TNPSC Group 2 2024 Application Fee

Before filling out the application form, candidates need to do One Time Registration (if they have not done it) and the amount to be paid as OTR fee is Rs. 150/-. After that, you have to pay a sum of Rs. 100/- as a Prelims Exam fee, and if you qualify prelims exam, then during Mains exam registration you again have to pay Rs. 150/-. Note that the TNPSC Group 2 application fee is non-refundable and it can be paid online only through Debit/Credit Card, UPI, Internet banking, etc.

  1. There is no upper age limit for applicants belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiyars), Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and destitute widows of all categories.
  2. Differently-abled individuals are granted an age relaxation of up to 10 years beyond the standard maximum age limit.
  3. For ex-servicemen, the maximum age limit is set at 48 years. However, this age concession is not available to those ex-servicemen who have already been appointed to any class, service, or category

To be eligible for TNPSC Group 2 & 2A, candidates need to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the required subject from a recognized Indian University or its equivalent. While the specific qualifications may vary based on the post, having a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject/stream is the minimum requirement.

TNPSC Group 2 2024 Selection Process

The selection process for the TNPSC Group 2 includes three stages of selection. The selection process is discussed below.

Preliminary Exam (Written) Candidates applying for the exam must appear for the preliminary exam, which is objective.

TNPSC Group 2 2024 Prelims Exam Pattern

The introduction of the Tamil Language Eligibility Test in the preliminary exam led to changes in the exam pattern. The TNPSC Group 2 exam now includes 100 multiple-choice questions to assess Tamil language knowledge, or candidates can choose the General English section instead. The questions are based on SSLC standards. The exam duration is 3 hours, and the pattern for TNPSC Group 2 Preliminary Exam is as follows:

  • General Tamil (S.S.L.C. Standard) or General English (S.S.L.C Standard): 100 questions, 300 marks
  • General Studies (Degree Standard): 75 questions
  • Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (S.S.L.C Standard): 25 questions
