PGT Exam Educational Qualification

The most important eligibility criterion for PGT exams is educational qualification.

• Candidates must have a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.
• In some cases, a B.Ed degree is also required.
• The Master’s degree should be in the same subject that the candidate intends to teach at the postgraduate level.
• For instance, if a candidate wishes to teach English at the postgraduate level, then he/she should have a Master’s degree in English.

PGT Exam Age Limit

The age limit for PGT exams is usually between 21 to 40 years. However, this can vary depending on the exam and the category of the candidate. For instance, candidates belonging to the SC/ST category are often given a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. Similarly, candidates belonging to the OBC category may be given a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit.
