S1. Ans.(b)
Sol. Total runs conceded = 5 × 45 + 4 × 15.75
= 225 + 63 = 288
Required average=288/9 =32

S2. Ans.(c)
Sol. Cost of 25 pens = 1 Rs.
Cost of 1 pen=100/25 paise=4 paise
Selling price of 15 pens = 1 Rs.
Selling price of 1 pen =100/15 paise
Profit %=(100/15–4)/4×100 =40/(15×4)×100 =66 2/3%

S3. Ans.(c)
Sol. Let x litre of milk is added to get 20% milk solution
∴(10/100×80+x)/(80+x)=20/100 ⇒ (8+x)/(80+x)=1/5
40 + 5x = 80 + x ⇒ 4x = 40 ⇒ x = 10 litre

S4. Ans.(c)
Sol. In first hour bus will cover 21 km
In second hour it will cover 24 km
In third hour it will cover 27 km
So,
252=n/2 [2×21+(n –1)3]
504 = 42n + 3n² – 3n ⇒3n² + 39n – 504 = 0
n² + 13n – 168 = 0 ⇒n² + 21n – 8n – 168 = 0
n (n + 21) – 8 (n + 21) = 0 ⇒ n = 8, – 21
So, n = 8 hours

Sol. 2 year interest = 448 – 400 = 48
1 year interest = 24
Rate=24/400×100=6% ⇒ 682–550=(550×6×T)/100
