JSSC Para Teacher Syllabus 2026

The JSSC Para Teacher exam will be held in one stage, called the Main Exam. All questions will be objective type and multiple choice, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The exam pattern is different for PRT and TGT posts, as PRT has 3 papers and TGT has 4 papers. Paper 1, which is Mother Tongue, is qualifying in nature for both posts, and candidates need at least 30% marks to qualify. The difficulty level for PRT papers is of +2/Intermediate standard, while for TGT papers it is of Graduate standard.

JSSC Para TGT Exam Pattern 2026

The TGT exam is for Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher posts for Class 6 to 8. This exam will have 4 papers, and it will be conducted in four shifts. JSSC Para PRT Exam Pattern 2026

The PRT exam is for Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher posts for Class 1 to 5. This exam will have 3 papers, and it will be conducted in three shifts. Paper 1 is qualifying in nature, and candidates must get minimum 30% marks in it to qualify. Only after qualifying Paper 1, the other papers of candidates will be checked. JSSC Para Teacher Syllabus PRT

The JSSC Para Teacher exam for the Intermediate Trained Assistant Teacher post (Classes 1 to 5) will be held in a single-stage main examination conducted across three shifts. All three papers carry questions set at the Intermediate/+2 difficulty level, and the total exam covers 400 marks, of which 100 marks (Paper 1) are qualifying in nature. Candidates must clear the qualifying language paper before their remaining answer sheets are evaluated for merit.

• Paper 1 – Mother Tongue (Qualifying): 100 marks, 2 hours; based on the Matric-level syllabus of the candidate’s mother tongue (Hindi, English, Urdu, Santhali, Bangla, Mundari, Ho, Khadia, Kurukh, Kurmali, Khortha, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, Odia, or Sanskrit); only qualifying, not counted for merit; minimum 30% marks required to qualify.
• Paper 2 – Notified Language: 100 marks, 2 hours; candidates choose one language from the same list notified by the Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha Department.
• Paper 3 – General Studies, Social Science, and Science & Mathematics: 300 marks combined, 3 hours; split into General Knowledge & Current Affairs (50 marks), Social Science (75 marks), and Science & Mathematics (75 marks).
• Total marks: 300 (merit-counted) + 100 (qualifying Paper 1) = 400.
• No negative marking for wrong answers.
• The General Studies portion tests general awareness, current affairs, Indian history/geography/polity, general science, general mathematics, mental ability, basic computer knowledge, and Jharkhand-specific knowledge (geography, history, culture, minerals, industries, and personalities).
• Social Science and Science & Mathematics questions are based on the JAC-prescribed syllabus for Classes 1 to 12, at +2/Intermediate difficulty level.

JSSC Para Teacher Syllabus TGT

For the Graduate Trained Assistant Teacher post (Classes 6 to 8), the main exam has four papers spread across four shifts, with all papers set at the graduation difficulty level. This exam carries a higher total of 480 marks, including a 100-mark qualifying language paper, and candidates choose one optional subject paper depending on their teaching stream- Mathematics & Science, Social Science, or Language.

• Paper 1 – Mother Tongue (Qualifying): 100 marks, 2 hours; same list of languages as the PRT exam; minimum 30% required to qualify; marks not added to the merit list.
• Paper 2 – Notified Language: 100 marks, 2 hours; one language chosen from the department-notified list.
• Paper 3 – General Knowledge & Current Affairs: 100 marks, 2 hours.
• Paper 4 – Optional Subject (choose one stream):
• Mathematics & Science Teacher: Questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology, divided into five sections; candidates attempt any three sections; 180 marks, 3 hours; minimum 33% required in this paper.
• Social Science Teacher: Questions from History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Accountancy, and Business Studies, divided into seven sections; candidates attempt any three; 180 marks, 3 hours; minimum 33% required.
• Language Teacher: Combined paper with 50% questions from English and 50% from the candidate’s chosen notified language; 180 marks, 3 hours; minimum 33% required.
• Total marks: 380 (merit-counted) + 100 (qualifying Paper 1) = 480.
• No negative marking for incorrect responses.
• Paper 3’s General Knowledge syllabus mirrors the PRT-level topics but at graduation-level difficulty, while subject papers follow the JAC-approved Class 1–12 curriculum for each discipline.
