GSET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, ensure you meet the following eligibility conditions:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed or be in the final year of a UGC-specified Master’s degree in a subject offered in GSET.
• Minimum Marks: General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree. SEBC (Non-creamy layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates must have secured at least 50% marks.
• Final Year Candidates: Those awaiting their Master’s results can apply provisionally. They must pass their final exam with the required percentage within two years of the GSET result declaration.
• Subject: Candidates must apply for the subject of their Post-Graduation only.
• Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for the GSET for the Assistant Professor eligibility.

The application process for GSET 2025 is a two-step procedure. It is mandatory to complete both steps successfully for your application to be considered. Step one involves paying the examination fee, and step two involves filling out the detailed application form.

Steps to Apply for the Gujarat SET 2025 Application Form

Step 1: Fee Payment

• Visit the official website www.gujaratset.ac.in.
• Click on the fee payment link.
• Pay the required examination fee online using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking through one of the provided gateways: SBIePay, Easebuzz, or Surepay (PayGov).
• After a successful transaction, print the fee receipt and carefully note down your Order Number and Payment Reference ID. You will need these for Step 2.

Step 2: Online Registration

• Return to the GSET website and click on the link for Online Registration (Step 2).
• Use your Order Number and Payment Reference ID to log in to your account.
• Fill out the online application form with utmost care. You will need a scanned passport-sized photograph in JPEG format (less than 100 KB).
• Review all entered details like name, category, subject, exam centre, and photograph. No corrections will be allowed after final submission.
• After confirming all details, submit the form and take a printout of the final submitted application form. Preserve this printout along with your fee receipt.

GSET 2025 Application Fee

The application fee varies based on the category of the candidate. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Payment can only be made online through the designated payment gateways on the GSET website.

• General / General-EWS / SEBC (Non-creamy layer): ₹900 + applicable bank charges.
• SC/ST/Third Gender: ₹700 + applicable bank charges.
• Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹100 + applicable bank charges.

Gujarat SET Syllabus

The syllabus for the Gujarat SET is aligned with national standards to ensure comprehensive subject knowledge.

• The syllabus for all subjects, except Science subjects, is the same as the UGC NET syllabus.
• For Science subjects (Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Earth Sciences), the syllabus is the same as the CSIR NET syllabus. However, please note that the exam pattern will follow the UGC NET format as described below.
• Candidates can download the detailed subject-wise syllabus directly from the GSET website www.gujaratset.ac.in. The office will not send individual syllabi to candidates.

GSET 2025 Exam Pattern

• Number of Papers: Two (Paper I and Paper II).
