Why has CBSE reopened the CTET application portal?

The decision follows the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s judgement in the Review Petition. The court emphasized the need to provide eligible teachers with a reasonable opportunity to fulfil the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification.

In view of the judgement and the larger interest of candidates, CBSE has decided to reopen the application portal for eligible candidates who missed the earlier deadline.

CTET 2026 Revised Exam Date

The revised date for the 22nd edition of CTET 2026 has not been announced yet. CBSE has stated that the new examination date will be announced after the closure of the online application portal.

Therefore, candidates should complete their applications within the reopened window and wait for the official announcement regarding the revised examination schedule.
