The process is different for Assistant Professor posts and for Associate Professor and Professor posts. For Assistant Professor posts, a written test is conducted by APPSC, while no written test is held for Associate Professor and Professor posts. For Assistant Professor

• Stage 1 – Eligibility Screening: Applications are checked for basic eligibility by departmental committees of the respective universities.
• Stage 2 – Written Test (CBT): A Computer Based Test of 150 MCQs is conducted by APPSC. Each question carries 3 marks and there is 1 negative mark for a wrong answer. The test duration is 180 minutes.
• Stage 3 – Qualifying Marks: Minimum qualifying marks in the written test are 40% for General, 35% for BC, and 30% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
• Stage 4 – 12:1 Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted in a 12:1 ratio based on written test scores. Contractual faculty gets an additional weightage of 0.5% per completed year of service (up to 10 years).
• Stage 5 – Academic Score Evaluation: A Screening-cum-Evaluation Committee (SEC) evaluates candidates on a 100-point academic and research score covering graduation marks, post-graduation marks, Ph.D., NET/JRF, publications, teaching experience, and awards.
• Stage 6 – 4:1 Interview Shortlisting: Based on the academic score, candidates are further shortlisted in a 4:1 ratio for the interview.
• Stage 7 – Interview (100 Marks): The interview is of 45 minutes and covers four components – Lecture Demonstration (25 marks), Interdisciplinary Awareness & Personality (15 marks), Domain Knowledge & Technology-Enabled Learning (35 marks), and Research Competence & Future Plans (25 marks).
• Final Selection: The final selection is based only on interview performance for Assistant Professor posts.

For Associate Professor and Professor

• Stage 1 – Eligibility Screening: Applications are screened for prima facie eligibility by departmental committees. No written test is conducted for these posts.
