RBI Grade B Stage 2 – Phase 2 (Mains)

There are three separate papers in the main exam of the RBI Grade B which consists of both objective and descriptive paper:

• For RBI Grade B Officers in Gr B (DR)- General, candidates have to appear for papers I, II, and III.
• Paper I & III are 50% Objective & 50 % descriptive, while Paper II is Descriptive only.
• Each paper will be worth 100 marks.
• The English paper is a descriptive test.

RBI Grade B Stage 1 – Phase 3 (Interview)

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on their total aggregate marks scored across Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III in the Phase II examination.

• The interview process will carry 75 marks. The RBI Grade B interview is the final stage of the selection process. Shortlisted candidates through the RBI Grade Phase 2 Exam are called for a personal interview, which assesses their suitability for the role.
• The interview panel evaluates candidates based on their knowledge, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall personality.
• Candidates must be well-prepared by understanding the banking sector, current affairs, economic policies, and RBI-related topics.
• The interview process plays a significant role in determining the final selection of candidates for the prestigious RBI Grade B officer position.

How long is the RBI Grade B Selection Process?

The RBI Grade B Selection Process comprises three stages: Phase 1, Phase 2, and the Interview. The complete recruitment cycle, from the release of the notification to the declaration of the final result, spans approximately 6–7 months. Generally, Phase 1 is conducted around 25–30 days after the notification, followed by Phase 2 within the subsequent six weeks.

The RBI Grade B interview is conducted 1–2 months after the Phase 2 exam, followed by the release of the final result. Aspirants should note the exam dates as soon as they are announced since the RBI publishes the schedule for all stages in advance, except for the interview date, which is revealed later.
