Amid claims circulating on social media regarding the alleged sale of the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) 2026 question paper, the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, has issued an official public notice clarifying that such reports are completely false. The university has urged candidates, parents, and guardians not to fall prey to misinformation being spread through platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram.
ABVMU Denies Claims of Question Paper Sale
According to Public Notice No. 36/COE/ABVMU/2026 dated June 2, 2026, certain anti-social elements are falsely claiming that they possess the CNET 2026 question paper and are offering it for sale. ABVMU has categorically denied these claims, stating that they are fabricated attempts to extort money from candidates, spread misinformation, create panic, and undermine public confidence in the examination process.
The university has advised candidates not to believe, engage with, or make any payments to individuals or groups making such claims. It has also appealed to the public not to share or forward these messages, as doing so contributes to the spread of false information.
CNET 2026 to Be Conducted Under Strict Security Arrangements
ABVMU has assured candidates that the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) 2026 will be conducted on June 6, 2026, across 307 examination centres in Uttar Pradesh. The university stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the examination is conducted with complete fairness, transparency, and integrity.
To safeguard the examination process, the state examination machinery has been fully deployed with stringent security protocols, real-time monitoring systems, vigilance teams, and flying squads. These measures are being implemented in active coordination with the Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF) to maintain the sanctity of the examination.
Advisory for Candidates and Parents
The university has urged candidates and their parents to remain calm and focus on exam preparation rather than paying attention to rumors. ABVMU emphasized that the examination will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit and advised candidates to trust the established examination process.
Candidates have also been instructed to immediately report any suspicious messages, social media channels, groups, or individuals claiming to provide access to the question paper. Such information should be shared with the nearest police authority or the university for prompt action.
Strict Legal Action Against Offenders
ABVMU has warned that stringent legal action will be initiated against individuals involved in spreading false information, running paper leak scams, or attempting to exploit candidates. Action may be taken under the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
The university further cautioned that any candidate found availing the services of such individuals, conspiring with them, or associating with these activities may face disqualification or debarment from the examination, in addition to other legal proceedings.
Reporting Contact Details
Candidates can report suspicious activities related to the examination by contacting Dr. Devashish Shukla, State Coordinator, CNET 2026, at 9196586434. Complaints can also be lodged through the Cybercrime Helpline by dialing 1930.
The notice, signed by Dr. Devashish Shukla on June 2, 2026, reiterates ABVMU’s commitment to conducting a fair and transparent examination and concludes with a message for aspirants: “Prepare well. Stay calm. Trust the process.”
