Candidates interested in the APFC post must fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed by UPSC. The eligibility requirements mainly include the prescribed educational qualification and age limit.

Age Limit:

• Candidates must be between 18 to 35 years.
• The upper age limit is 35 years for UR/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
• Age relaxation will be applicable to eligible reserved categories, PwBD candidates, and other specified groups as per government rules

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or institution.
• The degree can be in any discipline unless otherwise specified in the official notification.

Nationality:

A Candidate must be either:

• a citizen of India, or
• a subject of Nepal, or
• a subject of Bhutan, or
• a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of
  permanently settling in India, or
• a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East
  African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

The UPSC EPFO APFC Recruitment 2026 follows a two-stage selection process comprising the Recruitment Test and Interview. Candidates who qualify in the test will be shortlisted for the interview, and the final merit list will be prepared as per the UPSC selection rules.

• Stage 1: Recruitment Test (RT): Candidates will first appear for an offline objective-type examination comprising multiple-choice questions.
• Stage 2: Personal Interview: Applicants who qualify in the Recruitment Test will be shortlisted for the Interview stage.
• Final Selection: The final merit list will be prepared by giving 75% weightage to the Recruitment Test and 25% to the Interview marks.

UPSC EPFO APFC Salary

The APFC post in EPFO is classified as a Group A position and is placed under Level 10 of the 7th Pay Commission. The salary structure includes a basic entry pay of Rs 56,100, with the pay scale ranging from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,77,500.

In addition to the basic salary, selected candidates are entitled to allowances and benefits such as DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, and medical facilities as per applicable Central Government rules.

The actual in-hand salary will depend on the place of posting, applicable allowances and statutory deductions. In addition to salary, APFC officers are entitled to various benefits and allowances as per the rules applicable to Central Government employees.
