UPESSC postpones the Assistant Professor interview schedule from 22 July to 13 August 2026 amid a Supreme Court order. Previously the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the interview schedule for Assistant Professor posts. The Assistant Professor recruitment covers 910 posts spread across 33 subjects. The written exam for these posts was held on 18 and 19 April 2026, and the result came out on 9 June 2026. The commission cited a Supreme Court order dated 21 July 2026, passed in a Special Leave Petition titled State of Uttar Pradesh vs Harvinder, which was communicated to the commission on 22 July 2026. As per the notice, revised interview dates and further instructions will be published separately on the official UPESSC website. Documents Required for UPESSC Assistant Professor Interview

Candidates appearing for the UPESSC Assistant Professor interview must carry two sets of self-attested photocopies of all academic documents along with the original copies. It is important to arrange all certificates in a proper order before the interview day. This will help avoid last-minute confusion at the venue. • Printed interview call letter, hard copy of the online application form, and exam fee payment receipt
• Class 10th marksheet and certificate as age proof
• Marksheets and degrees for all academic levels, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, M.Phil., and Ph.D. wherever applicable
• Original NET, SLET, or SET qualification certificate
• Ph.D. degree along with the compliance or regularity certificate, if applicable
• Experience certificates, if any, and a valid Caste/Category or PwD certificate issued by a competent authority in Uttar Pradesh
• Government-issued photo ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, or Passport, along with recent passport-size colour photographs
• Two recent character certificates from different gazetted officers or from the institution last attended.

UPESSC Court Cases: Latest Update

The postponement is directly linked to an ongoing court matter. The commission confirmed that the interview process remains subject to the outcome of pending cases before the Supreme Court and the High Court.

The interview process was earlier stated to remain subject to the order dated 17 April 2026 in Special Appeal No. 368/2026 (Harvinder Singh and Others vs State of Uttar Pradesh and Others) before the High Court, and the order dated 25 May 2026 in Special Leave Petition (Diary No. 23758/2026, Dheeraj Chandani vs State of Uttar Pradesh and Others) before the Supreme Court. The fresh postponement notice dated 22 July 2026 cites a further Supreme Court order dated 21 July 2026 in SLP No. 23916/2026 (State of Uttar Pradesh vs Harvinder), which appears connected to the earlier Harvinder Singh matter.
