REET Mains Eligibility Criteria

The REET Mains Level 1 and Level 2 eligibility criteria are designed to ensure that candidates meet the required academic qualifications and age limits for the respective teaching posts. Below are the detailed eligibility criteria for both levels.

Level 1 Eligibility (Primary Teacher (General) for Classes 1 to 5)

Educational Requirements:

1. Senior Secondary (Class 12):
   • You need to have passed Class 12 with at least 50% marks.
   • Or, you can have a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
2. Bachelor’s Degree (B.Ed):
   • If you have a B.Ed degree, you must have completed it with 50% marks or more.
3. Other Requirements:
   • You must have a 2-year D.El.Ed. If you don’t have a B.Ed. degree.
   • If you’re still studying for the diploma or degree, you can apply, but you must finish it before getting the job.

Age Limit:

• Your age must be between 18 and 40 years.
• Age relaxation is available for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved category candidates.

Other Requirements:

• You should be an Indian citizen and should know the Rajasthani language.

Level 1 Eligibility (Primary Teacher (Sanskrit Education) for Classes 1 to 5)

Educational Requirements:

Senior Secondary (Class 12):

• You should have passed Class 12 (Umaavi) with at least 50% marks.
• If you were admitted to the 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) before 29th July 2011, the minimum percentage in Class 12 is not required.

Diploma / Degree:

• 2-year D.El.Ed: Required if you do not have a B.El.Ed degree.
• 4-year B.El.Ed (Bachelor in Elementary Education): Can be used instead of D.El.Ed.
  Varishtha Upadhyaya (or equivalent traditional Sanskrit exam) is mandatory.

Alternative Qualifications:

• Shastri/Graduation along with Varishtha Upadhyaya + 2-year D.El.Ed.
• Candidates with 45% marks in Varishtha Upadhyaya are eligible if they have a 2-year D.El.Ed obtained as per NCTE 2002 regulations.

Other Requirements:

• You must have cleared the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (RTET).
• If you are still studying for the diploma or degree, you can apply, but you must complete it before joining.

Age Limit:

• Age must be between 18 and 40 years.
• Age relaxation is available for SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved categories.

Citizenship / Language:

• You must be an Indian citizen.
• You should have knowledge of the Rajasthani language.

Level 2 Eligibility (Upper Primary Teacher for Classes 6 to 8)

   • You need to have a Bachelor’s degree (BA, B.Sc, or B.Com) with at least 50% marks.
2. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed):
   • You must have completed a B.Ed degree with 50% marks or more.

   • For subjects like Maths and Science, you need a B.Sc. degree.
   • For subjects like Hindi, Social Science, a BA degree is needed.

Age Limit:

• Your age should be between 18 and 40 years.
• Age relaxation is also given to SC, ST, OBC, and other reserved category candidates.

• You should also have knowledge of the Rajasthani language.
