PSTET Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit 2021

The PSEB has released the PSTET eligibility criteria 2021 for Primary and Upper Primary Teachers posts. The aspiring candidates have cleared the 12th standard with at least 50% marks and candidates with graduation or diploma in elementary education can also apply to become eligible for the post of primary teacher. Candidates having graduation degree from a recognized university and also a B.ED degree, a D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed degree can apply to become eligible for the post of upper primary teacher. Educational Qualification For PSTET 2021

Paper Educational Qualification
PSTET Paper 1: Class I to V (Primary)
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE.
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
  • Candidates who possessed “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” are now eligible for becoming Teachers for Classes I-V: Primary Stage. Such Candidates has mandatory to undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher.
PSTET Paper 2: Class VI to VIII (Upper Primary)
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education).
  • Any candidate having qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET exam.
