Preparation Strategy To Crack Reasoning Section For DSSSB

The DSSSB Exam is one of the most popular examinations for all students looking for a career in the teaching field. The examination is very competitive owing to the perks and benefits it offers to the students after the joining is over. Although we have previously provided an overall preparation strategy for cracking the DSSSB examination.

However, scoring marks in every section will lead to a higher score in the examination. Therefore, it is very important that the candidates practice well for the DSSSB Exam. The question paper will consist of a total of 200 MCQ-based questions. Each question weighs for 1 mark. The question paper will be divided into two parts- the first 100 questions will be based on General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and Language (Hindi & English) and the next 100 questions will be based on the subject for which the candidate is applying. However, amongst all the subjects Reasoning is the trickiest section and the candidates can check out the detailed preparation strategy to tackle the same on this page.

DSSSB Exam Pattern 2021

The DSSSB Exam is held usually to fill vacant posts under the TGT, PRT, PGT profiles. The tests are conducted in an online manner i.e. computer-based test mode. The candidates can check out the DSSSB Exam Pattern for the TGT, PRT and PGT Exams in the space below:

DSSSB PRT Exam

  • The questions asked in the examination will be objective in nature.
  • As per the marking scheme, there will be 1 mark for a correct answer while a deduction of 0.25 marks will be made for each wrong answer.

Preparation Strategy to Crack Reasoning Section for DSSSB

Candidates must clear their basic concepts before moving on to solve questions. The reasoning is based on analytical skills, and therefore the candidates need to cover all the topics and try to revise them thoroughly before heading for the actual examination. The major topics asked in the exam are Analogy, Arithmetic number series, Spatial orientation and visualization, Figures classification, Relationship concepts. The candidates should develop command on these subjects earlier. Question will be asked from the following topics given below:

  • The candidates must try to solve all the previous year’s questions of each topic asked in the Reasoning section so that they can know the exam pattern and prepare for it accordingly. This will help them know the topics of the majority of questions asked in the exam and be mentally prepared for it.
  • Candidates must try to attempt all the sample questions asked in the previous year papers and practice a very good amount of questions. Solving a variety of Reasoning questions will help candidates clear their doubts and follow a strategy of answering it.
  • The candidates must try to maintain their accuracy level in the examination owing to fact that there is a negative marking for the wrong sections. The lesser number of wrong answers the higher the score of the candidates.
  • Last and the most important thing is being confident and remaining calm while taking up the examination. Candidates must be confident that they have studied everything and will surely crack this one with 100% accuracy. Candidates appearing with a positive mindset are likely to perform well.

Other Important Tips :

1 Improve Logical Skills:

  • This section test candidates’ ability to think and problem solving skills, therefore it is required by the students to sharpen their logical and analytical skills.

2. Command Over Concepts And Formulas:

  • Both verbal and non-verbal section is important and should be focused by candidates.
  • The understanding of Directions and seating arrangements should be accurate, i.e., identifying which direction is West, North, East or South. Try to solve these type of questions through tricks.
  • Remember the sequence of alphabets and  their numerical position i.e., 1-26 both direction (forward and reverse). This will ease solving the alpha-numeric based questions.
  • Series is the most important topic, but it is also very difficult to master. You should make sure you practice each and every concept thoroughly.
  • Solve more figure based questions it is easy and fun-based as compare to other topics.

3. Look at one rule at a time:

  • There may be extraneous data within the question, which is designed to confuse you. Focusing on a single aspect can help you work out what is important and what’s not.

4. Don’t make unnecessary assumptions:

  • Always remember that the given question will be solved by the data given only
  • Don’t make unnecessary assumptions and judgments while solving the questions.
  • Use smart tricks and method for solving the questions.
