OTET Eligibility Criteria 2025

The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is a qualifying exam for candidates who want to become teachers in Odisha. While it is an eligibility test, applicants must meet certain conditions before filling out the OTET Application Form 2025. There is no specific age limit for appearing in the exam, but candidates must have the required educational qualifications to apply. The eligibility criteria are different for Primary Teachers (Classes I to V) and Upper Primary Teachers (Classes VI to VIII). Eligibility Criteria for Paper-I (Primary Teacher for Classes I to V)

  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), as per NCTE regulations.
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

Eligibility Criteria for Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher for Classes VI to VIII)

To be eligible for Paper-II, the candidate must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE regulations.
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed..
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Candidates can apply for OTET 2025 online only through the official website www.bseodisha.ac.in. The OTET online registration starts on 12th November 2025 and will remain open until 25th November 2025 (midnight). The last date for payment of the fee and final submission of the application form is 26th November 2025, 11:45 PM. How To Apply for OTET 2025: Step-by-Step Process

The OTET 2025 application process is conducted entirely online. Candidates must follow the steps carefully to ensure successful registration:

  • Visit the Website: Go to www.bseodisha.ac.in  and click Odisha TET 2025 Online Application.
  • Select Paper: Paper-I only (Classes I-V), Paper-II only (Classes VI-VIII), Both Papers (one exam centre; separate applications get different centres)
  • Registration/Login: New candidates click New Registration, enter Name, Password, Mobile No., Email ID, and submit. Existing users click Login and enter credentials.
  • OTP Verification: Enter OTP sent to registered mobile/email to access the form.
  • Fill Application Form: Complete six sections – Personal Info, Eligibility, Educational Qualification, Address, Information Sheet, Payment & Declaration. 
  • Review & Final Submit: Check all details carefully. Once Final Submit is clicked, no changes are allowed.
  • Fee Payment: Pay via HDFC Payment Gateway. Candidates are eligible only after payment authentication.
  • Download Acknowledgement: Save the receipt; it is mandatory to appear for the exam.

OTET Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2025

The OTET exam is designed to assess the teaching aptitude and subject knowledge of candidates aspiring to become teachers in Odisha.
