• Registration – Go to the official portal and register with a valid login ID, email address, and password. Use a personal email ID that you can access anytime.
• Login – Use your login ID and password to sign in. On your first login, you will need a secret key sent to your registered email.

• Fill Application Form – Fill in all your personal, academic, and research details. Click “Save” after filling each section so your data is stored.

IIT Hyderabad PhD Selection Process

The selection process for IIT Hyderabad PhD 2026 is handled at the department level, which means each department follows its own shortlisting and interview process. Shortlisted candidates are usually called for a written test and/or interview. When you come for the interview, carry all your original documents, application printout, fee receipt, and certificates. The final admission offer may be in any funding category based on your eligibility, regardless of the funding type you applied for.

• Each department follows its own shortlisting and selection process – there is no common selection round for all departments.
• Departments set their own cut-off marks for shortlisting candidates based on the number of applications received.
• Relaxation in cut-off is given to reserved category candidates -10% for OBC and 15% for SC/ST candidates – as per Government of India norms.
• The department has the right to offer admission under any funding category based on your eligibility, even if you applied under a different funding type.
