The TETs will also be extended to cover teachers across all stages (Foundational, Preparatory, Middle and Secondary) of school education. For subject teachers, suitable TET or NTA test scores in the corresponding subjects will also be taken into account for recruitment. To gauge passion and motivation for teaching, a classroom demonstration or interview will become an integral part of teacher hiring at schools and school complexes.

Teaching in Hindi or Regional Language

Earlier the teachers who were supposed to impart education in the mother tongue ‘Hindi’ language or their respective regional language up to Class 5. As per the New Education Policy 2020, it is proposed that the teaching is preferably required to be done in the mother tongue or regional language till Class 8th. Under this amendment, the CTET or TET qualified teachers must be having good command over Hindi or regional language as they would be asked to teach students in Hindi or their native language once the NEP is implemented in the Education system.

Interactive & technology-based teaching system:

Since CTET and other states, TET qualified teachers will be recruitment only for teaching students till Class 8, so they will have to adopt different and attractive approaches for teaching and preparing students during their foundational (Classes 1 & 2), preparatory (Classes 3 to 5) and middle stages (Classes 6 to 8). To make the teaching more interesting and easy to learn, technology will be used for understanding the topics easily, which will make it compulsory for the CTET and TET qualified teachers need to be handy at technological devices.

Transparency in the teacher recruitment process in government schools:

As proposed in the New Education Policy 2020, the objective of making the teacher recruitment process in schools more transparent, balanced, fair, and strong will be focused. This will be followed by launching New Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) by the government and the teachers will be selected on the basis of their eligibility and talent. About the promotion of the teachers, it is also stated in the NEP 2020 that the promotion of teachers will be totally based on their merits. This change in the policy will make it easier for TET and CTET qualified candidates to get recruited on good posts in the government schools.
