Goa TET Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit for Paper 1 and Paper 2

Goa TET Eligibility Criteria 2021

Directorate of Education, Government of Goa has released Goa Teacher Eligibility Test notification. All the candidate can apply for Goa TET 2021 Application form till 20th October 2021. Goa TET Examination will be going to held on 21 November 2021 at various districts of Goa. Goa TET is eligibility test for the candidates who wish to pursue their career as teachers of primary classes (I to V) and Upper Primary classes (VI-VIII) schools in the state of Goa. Candidates have to know about eligibility criteria, age limit before filling application form. The detail has been given below :

Goa TET Age Limit

The candidate is eligible for filling the application during his minimum age is 18 years and maximum age has no limit as mention in Goa TET notification.

Goa TET Eligibility Criteria

The detail of Eligibility Criteria for Goa TET 2021 for both papers has been given below :

Eligibility Criteria for GTET- Paper-I (for Primary Stage: Classes I-V)

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

Note: “ who has acquired the qualification of Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”.

Eligibility Criteria for GTET- Paper-II (for Elementary/Upper Primary Stage: Classes VI-VIII)

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in B.Ed. (Special Education).

Note: Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in GTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the GTET.

 

Goa TET Passing Marks

As per NCTE revised guidelines (Elementary) 2016 for conducting TET and the Goa TET rules approved by the Govt. of Goa, a person must score 60 % (90 out of 150) or more in aggregate to be declared as TET pass.

Goa TET Certificate

The validity of the Mark sheet cum Certificate of Goa TET shall be lifetime from the date of issue of the certificate by the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa. The TET qualifying certificate for an appointment, unless otherwise notified by the appropriate Government, would remain valid for a lifetime from the date of issue of the certificate by the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa.

Goa TET Applicability

The GTET shall apply to schools of the Government of Goa, Schools aided by Government of Goa or other Local Body and Private Schools under the administrative control of Government of Goa.

Goa TET Validity

SCERT, Goa will issue certificates to all successful candidates qualifying GTET and the certificate shall be valid for life time. There is no restriction on the number of attempts to appear in GTET examination. A person who has passed GTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.

Q1. What is the examination date of Goa TET?
Ans. The examination date of Goa TET 2021 is 21 November 2021

Q2. Is there any negative marking in Goa TET?
Ans. There will be no negative marking in the Goa TET exam

Q3. What is the difficulty level of Goa TET in both papers?
Ans. The following are the details of the difficulty level of both papers :

  • Difficulty level for Assam TET Paper 1: Up to 8th Class
  • Difficulty level for Assam TET Paper 2: Up to 10th Class

Q4. What is the weightage of Child Development and Pedagogy subject in the Goa TET exam?
Ans. The weightage of the Child Development and Pedagogy subject in the Goa TET exam is 30 marks in each paper.

Q5. In how many languages Goa TET exam will be held?
Ans. The question paper shall be in English except for language-II. Language-II paper will be in the respective languages i.e. Konkani or Marathi.
