NEET Qualifying Exam Code 2024

The NEET UG 2024 exam has a total of 7 qualification codes. The NEET qualification codes vary from student to student based on their education status. For example, the NEET 2024 qualifying exam code is different for appearing candidates than the dropper candidates. NEET eligibility requirements for droppers, appearing applicants, candidates whose results are pending, and other candidates are mentioned in the qualification codes. The selection of a qualifying code for examination is the most crucial step for candidates in the NEET application form 2024.

NEET Qualification Codes 2024

It’s critical to comprehend the NEET qualification codes 2024 in order to determine the minimal scores required for admission to MBBS and BDS programs. Candidates belonging to the general category must have passed each of the four subjects: English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology—individually in Class 12 in order to be eligible for NEET in 2024. Additionally, the candidates’ cumulative scores in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology (Botany and Zoology) must have been 50%.

Candidates from SC/ST/OBC categories need to receive at least 40%, whilst PwD candidates need to receive 45%. The qualifying exam in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology must have been passed with 50% of the total marks by candidates who have completed their higher education overseas. NEET Code 1

The NEET Code 1 is for those students who are currently in their class 12 or equivalent and will be giving their board exam in the academic year 2023-24. As per the official notification, the NEET Code 1 for the NEET UG 2024 exam is for the following category of candidates.

This code must be chosen by candidates who will be taking the Class 12/Intermediate or equivalent qualifying exam or who are awaiting the results. If the candidate does not pass once the results are announced, they will not be allowed to reapply. In order to demonstrate their eligibility for the test, students must provide the necessary documentation.

NEET Code 2 ( NEET Code For Droppers 2024)

The NEET code 2 is for dropper candidates, i.e., candidates who have passed their class 12th in the previous year. Candidates may choose code 2 if they have successfully completed 12 years of coursework through Higher/Secondary examinations or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), which is comparable to Class 10+2. The National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) stipulates that English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, Mathematics, or any other option must be taken as major subjects during the final two years of study.

Candidates may also apply under NEET qualification code 2 if they have completed their 10+2 coursework from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or a state open school, as a private candidate from state boards, and if they have taken biology or biotechnology as an additional subject.

Who else should choose NEET Code 2: It should be mentioned that droppers will use the same qualifying examination code for NEET 2024. For example, if a candidate wants to sit for the NEET 2024 exam but has completed the qualifying exam from CBSE/ICSE or any state board in 2023 or before, they can apply using Code 2.

NEET Code 3

The NEET Code 3 is for PUC candidates, for example, candidates who have passed the PUC examination. Medical candidates must select code 3 if they have passed their Intermediate/Pre-Examination degree in the Science stream from any accredited Indian university, board, or other organization with required subjects being physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English. There should be a practical test in the aforementioned subjects as part of the qualifying examination.

After passing the Higher Secondary test, Pre-university exam, or an equivalent exam, and after completing the pre-professional/pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, one can select this code. It should be mandatory for the pre-professional or pre-medical examination qualification to include practical exams in every subject.

NEET Code 5

An applicant enrolled in a three-year degree program (with the aforementioned courses) at an accredited university after passing the 12th grade or an equivalent exam should choose this code. Candidates must select code 5 if they have successfully completed the first year of a bachelor’s degree program in physics, chemistry, biology, or biotechnology from an accredited university, including practical exams. It is imperative for candidates to confirm that the first year exam they passed was a university-level exam and that they passed the Class 12 qualifying examination with the relevant subjects at a minimum level equivalent to a core course.

NEET Code 6

This code is for a candidate who has passed BSc course with the any of two of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, or Biology/Biotechnology) and also passed 12th standard with PCB & English.  Code 6 from NEET qualification code 2024 can be selected as the eligibility code by any candidate who has taken the B.Sc. examination with at least two subjects passed, including Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, and Chemistry respectively. Additionally, these applicants need to have passed the English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and Class 10+2 qualifying examinations.
