Eligibility for MP NEET Counselling 2026

Before registration, students should check the basic eligibility. A candidate should:

  • qualify NEET UG 2026
  • meet the minimum qualifying percentile set by NTA
  • pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English
  • meet the minimum age rule as per NEET norms

Registration Fee and Security Deposit

The official 2026 fee details are not released yet. So students should wait for the counselling brochure for final figures. In many counselling systems, the registration fee is non-refundable after payment.

As per previous counselling pattern and available counselling information, candidates may also need to pay a refundable security deposit, especially from later rounds. A commonly discussed structure is:

College Type Expected Security Deposit
Government Medical Colleges ₹10,000
Private Medical Colleges ₹1,00,000

Still, please treat this as expected only, not final. The 2026 brochure will confirm the actual amount and refund rules.

State Merit List and Choice Filling

After registration ends, DME prepares the State Merit List. This list is generally based on:

  • NEET UG 2026 score
  • All India Rank
  • category
  • eligibility
  • verified documents

Only those students whose names appear in the merit list can move ahead to choice filling.

During Choice Filling, Students Should:

  • log in to the counselling portal
  • select preferred colleges and courses
  • arrange them in correct order
  • save choices
  • lock choices before deadline
  • download the choice confirmation slip

A very common mistake is filling too few choices. Students should add as many realistic options as possible. More choices means better admission chances.

Seat Allotment Process

The seat allotment is done online by DME Madhya Pradesh. Seats are given on the basis of:

  • NEET rank
  • state merit rank
  • reservation category
  • seat availability
  • choices filled by the candidate

After allotment, students need to:

  • download the allotment letter
  • report to the allotted college on time
  • complete document verification
  • pay the admission fee

If a student does not report within the deadline, the allotted seat may be cancelled. So do not be casual here.

Counselling Rounds

MP NEET counselling is usually conducted in multiple rounds.

Counselling Round Details
Round 1 First seat allotment round
Round 2 For vacant seats and eligible candidates
Mop-Up Round To fill remaining vacant seats
Stray Vacancy Round Final round for leftover seats

Students should participate in every round for which they are eligible. Sometimes a better college comes in a later round also.

Documents Required

At the time of verification, candidates should carry original documents along with 2–3 self-attested photocopy sets.

Main Documents Required

  • NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
  • NEET UG 2026 Scorecard
  • Counselling Registration Form
  • Seat Allotment Letter
  • Class 10 Mark Sheet and Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark Sheet and Certificate
  • Valid Photo ID Proof
  • Passport-size Photographs
  • MP Domicile Certificate, if applicable
  • Category Certificate, if applicable
  • Income Certificate, if applicable
  • PwD Certificate, if applicable
  • NRI documents, if applicable

Students under special categories may also need extra papers like defence certificate, affidavit, or NRI dependency documents.

Reservation, Bond Policy and Open State Rules

Reservation in MP counselling is generally applied as per state government rules. The commonly followed distribution includes:

Category Reservation
SC 16%
ST 20%
OBC 14%
EWS 10%

There can also be horizontal reservation for categories like PwD and others as per rules. Students must upload valid certificates, otherwise reservation benefit may not be given.

For bond policy, candidates should be extra careful before taking admission in government medical colleges. In previous counselling discussions, MP has been associated with seat leaving bond and rural service bond conditions. But bond rules can change, and this is a serious matter. So students should read the official 2026 admission conditions before joining any college. Don’t ignore this part just because seat mil gaya.

Participating Medical Colleges

MP counselling covers both government and private colleges. Some well-known government colleges include:

  • Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal
  • MGM Medical College, Indore
  • Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur
  • Gajra Raja Medical College, Gwalior
  • Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa
  • Bundelkhand Medical College, Sagar

Private medical colleges in the state also participate through the same counselling system for eligible seats.
