The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has issued an important clarification regarding the WB SLST 2025 examination. The Commission has cancelled the admit cards of several candidates who were earlier part of the tainted SLST 2016 recruitment process. This move comes after a careful verification of candidate details against previously published lists.
Why Were WB SLST Admit Cards Cancelled?
According to the official notice, WBSSC discovered that some candidates from the 1st SLST 2016, already named in List-I (published on 30 August 2025), applied once again for the 2nd SLST 2025.
The Commission cross-checked applications for SLST 2025 with the earlier list using roll numbers, candidate names, and father’s names. While some candidates were already blocked and did not receive admit cards, a few others mistakenly received them. These names have now been published in List-2 (separately for Classes IX–X and XI–XII). The Commission confirmed that the admit cards of these candidates stand cancelled.

WBSSC’s Clarification For Cancellation of WB SLST Teacher Admit Card
WBSSC has made the following points clear in its latest notice:
- Admit cards in List-2 are cancelled. Candidates whose roll numbers appear there cannot appear in the WB SLST 2025 exam.
- Provisional admit cards don’t confirm eligibility. They only allow candidates to sit provisionally, subject to further checks.
- Eligibility will be verified after the exam. During the document verification stage, any ineligible candidate will be rejected even if they appeared in the exam.
- Tainted 2016 candidates barred. Anyone connected with the irregularities in the 2016 SLST must not participate in SLST 2025, even if they mistakenly received an admit card.
- The Commission has also directed all exam centres and venue-in-charges to strictly follow these instructions.
What It Means for 2nd WB SLST Candidates?
This clarification is a reminder that admit cards alone don’t guarantee participation. Candidates must meet all eligibility criteria, which will be thoroughly checked during verification. Those found to be ineligible will be permanently disqualified. For genuine candidates, this step ensures transparency and fairness in the WB SLST 2025 selection process.
