As the WB Chief Minister, Mamta Banerjee, announced that the recruitment will be released by the end of May 2025 as per the SC directive. This move comes after a Supreme Court ruling that cancelled the appointments of thousands of teachers and staff in government-aided schools.

Now, the government is not only preparing to fill those vacant posts again but also trying to ensure that the affected candidates get a fair chance in the new recruitment process by filing a review petition in the Supreme Court regarding the SSC Teacher Recruitment Matter.

WB Govt To Release 24000+ Teaching Vacancies By May 31 2025

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that the official teacher recruitment notification will be out by 31 May 2025. Around 24203 vacant teaching posts will be advertised, and the government has also created additional posts, more than 11000 for Classes 9 and 10, along with posts in Group C and Group D categories.

The recruitment process is being taken up urgently to meet the Supreme Court’s deadline, which is May End. The government will also continue to fight a legal battle through a review petition, hoping that the court might reconsider its decision. But until then, the recruitment has to move forward.

There’s a silver lining for the teachers who lost their jobs due to the court’s decision. The Chief Minister has clearly said that they will not be left out of the new process. Those who were affected will be allowed to apply again, even if they’ve crossed the usual age limit.
