IMU PhD Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet any one of the following:

Master’s degree after a 4-year bachelor’s or 2-year master’s after a 3-year bachelor’s degree.
Equivalent foreign qualification recognized by a valid accreditation agency.
4-year bachelor’s degree with minimum 75% marks or equivalent grade.
M.S (By Research) awarded by IMU.
Mariners with Master/MEO Class I CoC or PGDMOM, plus 2 years teaching experience at degree level in IMU/affiliated/DGS-approved institutes.
5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD/EWS candidates as per Government norms.

For Integrated Ph.D. & M.S (By Research)

UG degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA.
For Mariners: Master/MEO Class I CoC is accepted.
5% relaxation for reserved categories as per Govt. rules.

IMU University Fellowship

IMU provides 6 University Fellowships per year for scholars admitted to the full-time Ph.D. programme.
Fellowship Amount:

JRF ( First 2 Years)	Rs. 31,000 per month
SRF ( 3rd to 5th Year)	Rs. 35,000 per month

Tenure: 5 years from the date of commencement of the Ph.D. programme.
The fellowship starts from the date of joining as a full-time research scholar.
