CSIR NET Exam Pattern
The question paper has three parts: Part A, Part B and Part C. All three contain objective-type MCQs, and there is no break between them. The number of questions, questions to attempt, marks per question and negative marking differ by subject.

In Chemical Sciences, for example, Part A has 20 questions, Part B has 40 and Part C has 60. Candidates attempt 15, 35 and 25 questions respectively, with negative marking in all three parts.
The marking scheme is not the same for every subject. Mathematical Sciences has no negative marking in Part C, but Parts A and B carry it. Candidates should follow the scheme of their own subject.

CSIR NET December 2026 Fellowship and Benefits
