Transfer Policy Update: 3 Lakh Teachers to Get Big Relief
Along with new recruitment, the government has also announced a major transfer policy that will benefit around 3 lakh existing teachers.
Key Points of the New Transfer Policy:
- Female teachers will now be posted in their own block (nearby area)
- Male teachers will be transferred to their home district
- Postings will be given in panchayat schools near home
- This policy ends years of hardship for teachers posted far from their families
- The transfer issue had been pending for over 2 years
This is being seen as a huge relief, especially for women teachers who were earlier posted in distant districts, far from their homes and families.
Jeevika Didis and Rural Economy: Education Meets Employment
The Bihar government is not just focused on hiring teachers- it is linking education with rural economic growth through the Jeevika Didi model.
How this works:
- 1.70 crore students in Bihar government schools will have their school calendar managed by Jeevika Didis
- Earlier, this work was done through tender contracts, where profits went to businessmen from other states
- Now, local women (Jeevika Didis) will do this work, keeping money within Bihar
- Cloth purchasing will also be done locally, boosting the rural economy
- This makes women more financially independent and reduces Bihar’s dependence on outside states
