AIIMS Faculty Recruitment 2026 Out for 260 Posts, Eligibility, Salary, Selection Process

AIIMS Gorakhpur, AIIMS Jammu and AIIMS Rewari have published fresh faculty recruitment notifications for 2026. These join the rolling advertisement of AIIMS Deoghar and the contractual drive of AIIMS Bhopal, taking the total to 260 medical faculty vacancies.

The posts cover Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in Group A. AIIMS Jammu announced 76 posts, AIIMS Deoghar 68 (plus 1 nursing faculty post), AIIMS Gorakhpur 56, AIIMS Bhopal 45 and AIIMS Rewari 15. Rewari closes on 7 November 2026, Jammu on 13 November 2026 and Gorakhpur on 14 November 2026. AIIMS Faculty Recruitment 2026 Out

Five AIIMS campuses are recruiting faculty at present, and each follows a different application route. Rewari accepts offline applications only, Jammu and Gorakhpur combine an online submission with a hard copy sent by post, and Deoghar and Bhopal take applications by email.
AIIMS Rewari published its notification on 8 October 2026, AIIMS Jammu followed on 14 October 2026 and AIIMS Gorakhpur issued a detailed advertisement on 15 October 2026. The earlier Gorakhpur advertisement of 14 September 2026 (68 posts) closed on 13 October 2026, and the new 56-post advertisement carries the current round.

AIIMS Faculty Notification 2026

The application window for AIIMS Gorakhpur, Deoghar, Bhopal is open. Candidates are advised to keep the notification PDF handy for department-wise eligibility and reservation details.

Deoghar’s rolling advertisement stays open through further cut-off dates: 15 December 2026 (Phase 3) and 15 February 2027 (Phase 4). These apply to posts that remain unfilled. Bhopal’s interview and document verification dates will be notified separately on its website.

AIIMS Faculty Recruitment 2026: Overview

The AIIMS Recruitment for Groups A Faculty position includes Professor, Additional Professor, Associate and Assistant Professor in various health department. Candidates are advised to check the overview table for more details.

AIIMS Faculty Vacancy 2026

The five AIIMS have notified 260 medical faculty posts, and Assistant Professor is the largest group with 112 vacancies. Jammu has the highest count with 76 posts, and its list runs across 34 departments.

At AIIMS Gorakhpur, 7 seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (1 Professor, 1 Additional Professor, 2 Associate Professor, 3 Assistant Professor).

AIIMS Faculty Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility rests on a recognised postgraduate degree in the subject of the post and teaching or research experience gained after that degree. Candidates must meet every condition on or before the closing date of the institute: 7 November (Rewari), 13 November (Jammu) and 14 November 2026 (Gorakhpur).

• Medical candidates need MBBS plus MD/MS (DM/M.Ch for super-speciality posts) in the subject of the post, recognised by NMC/IMC.
• Non-medical candidates (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Physiology) need a relevant Master’s degree plus a doctorate, with experience counted after the doctorate. Rewari lists Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology for non-medical candidates.
• Teaching or research experience counts only when gained after the qualifying degree in an NMC/MCI/UGC-recognised institution.
• Medical Oncology and Pulmonary Medicine candidates with a 2-year or 3-year DM must hold an MD in the stated parent subject (Medicine or Paediatrics for Medical Oncology, Medicine for Pulmonary Medicine).
• A DNB degree equals MD/MS/DM/M.Ch when granted in a hospital with 500 or more beds, as per the NMC notification dated 14.02.2022. Other DNB holders need one extra year of senior residency, which makes 4 years of experience in total.
• SC/ST candidates can receive up to one year of experience relaxation at the discretion of the competent authority (Gorakhpur and Jammu).
• Employees of Government, semi-government and autonomous bodies must produce an NOC from the present employer, or the interview is denied.
• Gorakhpur may downgrade unfilled Additional Professor and Associate Professor posts to Assistant Professor and fill them on contract.

How to Apply for AIIMS Recruitment 2026?

Below are the steps to apply for the faculty positions in AIIMS:

AIIMS Rewari

• Take the prescribed application form and candidate’s brief from the notification.
• Fill in the form, affix a recent passport-size photograph and sign at every required place.
• Prepare a Demand Draft for the fee in favour of “Director, AIIMS Rewari”, payable at Rewari.
• Attach self-attested copies of mark sheets, degrees, age proof, category certificate, experience certificate, NOC and two passport-size photographs.
• Write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF … DEPTT. OF … for AIIMS, Rewari” on the envelope.
• Send the envelope to the Registrar, AYUSH Block, Ground Floor, AIIMS, Majra, Rewari, Haryana – 123102, so that it reaches on or before 7 November 2026.

AIIMS Jammu

• Open the application link on the official website https://www.aiimsjammu.edu.in between 14 October and 13 November 2026 (5:00 PM).
• Fill in the online form in the prescribed format, with a separate form for each post.
• Upload the photograph, signature and supporting documents in PDF/JPEG format (scanned at 200 dpi grey scale) and check that the photo and signature show clearly in the preview.
• Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
• Print the application with the covering letter that appears after submission.
• Send the printout with self-attested copies of all certificates and proof of payment to the Registrar, Academic Block, 6th Floor, AIIMS Vijaypur, Jammu, so that it reaches on or before 18 November 2026.

AIIMS Gorakhpur

• Visit the official AIIMS Gorakhpur website or open the Google Form link given in the advertisement.
• Fill the application form in the prescribed MS Word format and take a printout.
• Scan the signed application along with photograph and upload it via the Google Form.
• Upload the filled Brief of Candidate (Annexure-A) and PowerPoint Presentation (Annexure-B).
• Attach scanned copies of educational certificates, experience certificates, and category certificates.
• Pay the applicable application fee through the prescribed bank account.
• Send the signed hard copy of the application with self-attested documents by Speed/Registered Post to the Recruitment Cell, AIIMS Gorakhpur, before the closing date.

AIIMS Deoghar

• Download the advertisement and application format (Annexure 1) from www.aiimsdeoghar.edu.in.
• Fill in the application, sign every page with the date, and complete the required annexures.
• Pay the non-refundable fee in the SBI account given in the notification and keep the transaction receipt.
• Combine the application, all enclosures and proof of fee in a single legible PDF (scanned at 200 dpi grey scale).
• Email the PDF to facultyrecruitmentcell@aiimsdeoghar.edu.in on or before 15 October 2026.
• Keep the hard copy of the same application ready to produce at document verification before the interview.
• Deputation candidates must send their application through proper channel (Annexures 1, 10 and 11, along with

AIIMS Bhopal

• Download the prescribed application format from the AIIMS Bhopal website.
• Fill in the application and attach documents supporting your eligibility, such as degrees, mark sheets and experience certificates.
• Email the application with documents to recruitment.contractual@aiimsbhopal.edu.in within 10 days of the advertisement’s publication on the website. The email should be captioned “Engagement of Assistant Professor (On CONTRACTUAL BASIS) in the Department of ……”.
• Carry the same application, originals of all documents and one set of self-attested copies to document verification. This is held one day before the interview, on a date to be notified on the website.
• Bring the application fee, if applicable, as a demand draft at the time of document verification.

AIIMS Age Limit

The age limit depends on the post and the institute, and the cut-off date is the closing date of the application (the date of interview for AIIMS Bhopal). AIIMS Gorakhpur and Deoghar allow 58 years for Professor and Additional Professor, while Jammu and Rewari notify 50 years for every post.

• SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies get no age relaxation.
• Rewari caps the upper age at 55 years even after relaxation.
• Gorakhpur sets 56 years for Additional Professor and 58 years for Professor on deputation, and retired faculty up to 68 years can apply for the consultant posts.
• Government employees of autonomous bodies, State Governments and PSUs do not get the Central Government servant relaxation.

AIIMS Faculty Application Fee

The AIIMS fee varies from nil to Rs. 3,000 depending on the institute and category, and PwBD candidates are exempt everywhere. Gorakhpur, Jammu and Rewari charge a separate fee for each post applied.

Jammu and Rewari refund the SC/ST fee to candidates who appear in the interview.Gorakhpur treats the fee as non-refundable and exempts retired faculty applying on contract or deputation.Applications without the prescribed fee are rejected at Jammu and Rewari.

AIIMS Faculty Selection Process

Selection at AIIMS is interview-based, and the process differs slightly between the institutes. Candidates are first screened on the documents and biodata submitted, and only eligible candidates are called for the interview. Mere eligibility does not guarantee an interview call or selection. The key points for AIIMS Deoghar and AIIMS Bhopal are given below.

AIIMS Deoghar

• Shortlisting is done by a Screening Committee on the basis of the biodata submitted.
• Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview, and details are sent by registered post or email.
• Selection is based on the interview, along with academic and research credentials, publications, awards and conference presentations.
• Candidates must bring all original documents to the interview and submit an affidavit signed by a Judicial Magistrate or Notary.
• The interview may extend to the next day, so candidates should stay available.
• No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the interview.
• A waiting list is prepared and stays valid for six months after the result is declared.
• Selected direct-recruitment candidates serve a two-year probation period.
• The post is whole-time, and private practice of any kind is not permitted.

AIIMS Bhopal

• Only candidates found eligible after document verification appear before the Selection Committee.
• Document verification is held one day before the interview, and the schedule is notified on the institute website.
• A screening test may be conducted if the number of candidates exceeds a 1:10 ratio.
• Document verification and interviews are held at Kautilya Bhawan (Administration Building), AIIMS, Saket Nagar, Bhopal.
• Candidates must arrange their own stay, and no TA/DA is paid.
• Government, semi-government and autonomous-body employees must produce an NOC at the interview, or they will not be allowed to appear.
• The engagement is contractual, for 1 year or till a regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier, and cannot be regularised.
• Selected candidates must serve at least 6 months and sign a service bond on non-judicial stamp paper. Leaving early attracts a penalty of Rs. 1,00,000.

AIIMS Gorakhpur

• The Search-cum-Selection Committee shortlists candidates on the basis of biodata.
• The interview is held in person at Gorakhpur, and the list of eligible candidates with date, time and venue goes on the website.
• Candidates bring original documents to the interview, and employees of Government bodies produce an NOC.
• No TA/DA is paid, and the appointment carries a probation of two years.
  Private practice of any kind is prohibited.

AIIMS Jammu

• Selection depends on interview performance, and a written test or screening may be held to shortlist candidates.
• The interview is in person only, in the Board Room, 6th Floor, Academic Block, AIIMS Vijaypur, with reporting at 9:30 AM on dates to be notified.
• Original certificates are verified at the interview, and a missing NOC bars appearance.
• Missing the hard copy deadline of 18 November 2026 cancels the candidature.
• Probation lasts two years, and new appointees fall under the New Pension Scheme.

AIIMS Rewari

• Selection depends on interview performance, and a written test or screening may be held for shortlisting.
• The interview is in person only, with venue and dates to be intimated later by email and on the website.
• Original documents are verified at the interview, and contractual employees of Government-funded bodies must also produce an NOC.
• No TA/DA is paid, and the probation period is two years.

AIIMS Faculty Salary Structure

Regular faculty posts follow the 7th CPC pay matrix, with Non-Practising Allowance and other allowances as per institute norms. AIIMS Bhopal pays a consolidated amount for contractual Assistant Professors, and AIIMS Gorakhpur pays lumpsum remuneration to retired faculty consultants.

Faculty appointed on regular basis serve a two-year probation. Campus accommodation is provided where available, and House Rent Allowance is paid when it is not.
