Why NEET UG exam can’t be held twice a year? NMC Explained

The National Medical Commission has stated that holding the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG twice a year will be impossible due to the fact that all MBBS seats are filled during counselling.
The Commission was replying to a letter from the All India Student’s Union, a student organisation that demanded that the NEET UG be held twice a year. The NMC also stated that conducting the exam requires a large amount of money and other resources and that doing it again would place an ‘undue strain on the national exchequer.’ It was suggested that students apply for the medical entrance exam the following year.
