UPPSC BEO Syllabus 2024
To clear the exam, candidates must familiarize themselves with the topics and subjects listed in the UPPSC BEO (Block Education Officer) Syllabus 2024. It covers a wide range of topics about policies, procedures, and administration in education. Prelims, Mains, and Interviews are the three stages of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s recruiting procedure for the Block Education Officer, commonly known as Khand Shiksha Adhikari.
UPPSC BEO Syllabus 2024 for Prelims
The General Studies paper is the only one that makes up the preliminary examination. It takes two hours to complete and has 120 questions overall with 300 marks. This multiple-choice question test includes a range of topics, such as:
- History of India
- General Science
- Indian National Movement
- Indian Agriculture, Commerce, and Trade
- Indian Polity, Economy, and Culture
- Population, Environment, and Urbanization (Within the Indian Context)
- World and National Geography, as well as India’s Natural Resources
- Current Events on a National and Global Scale
- Basic mathematics including arithmetic, algebra, and geometry up to the tenth grade
- General intelligence, with an emphasis on logic and reasoning
- In-depth knowledge of Uttar Pradesh’s living, working, educational, cultural, agricultural, and cultural traditions.
UPPSC BEO Syllabus 2024 for Mains
General Studies and General Hindi with Essays are the two compulsory papers for the main exam. Each paper is worth 400 marks and takes three hours to complete. There are three sections of questions in the General Studies paper.
- In Section A, there will be 10 questions with generic answers that must be answered. Each question will be worth ten marks, and each answer must not exceed 125 words.
- In Section B, 10 questions with brief responses totaling six marks each and a word limit of fifty are included.
- In Section C, 20 questions with extremely brief responses are limited to 25 words and are worth two marks.
General Hindi and Essay paper consists of two sections:
- General Hindi is the first section and is worth 100 points.
- An essay in Hindi, for 100 points, makes up the second section.
In the General Study paper, the following subjects are covered:
- History of India
- Indian National Movement and Indian Culture
- Geography of India
- Indian Polity
- Indian Agriculture
- Socially relevant issues and current national issues in India and around the world
- Indian Economy
- International Affairs and Institutions
- Developments in the fields of Science and Technology, Communication, and Space
- Recent developments in education (in an Indian context)
- Specific knowledge regarding the Culture, Agriculture, Industry, Trade, Living, and Social Traditions of Uttar Pradesh.
General Hindi and Essay paper will cover the following:
First Part: General Hindi
- Unseen passage reading, answering questions, analyzing underlined sections, and providing a suitable title for the passage.
- Various types of letter writing.
- Translation from English to Hindi and vice versa.
- Grammar and Vocabulary.
Second Part: Essay
- There are two portions in this area, and each component requires the writing of one essay. Every essay has a word restriction of 700 words.

Another form must be filled out by candidates who make it to the Mains Examination. In contrast, for the Mains exam, they will share the same roll number.
UPPSC BEO Exam Pattern 2024
The preliminary test is required of those who wish to compete in the Uttar Pradesh PSC BEO. Those who receive the required minimum number of points in the preliminary exam will be eligible to sit for the main exam.
Uttar Pradesh PSC BEO Prelims Exam Pattern
The preliminary exam consists of 300-mark multiple-choice questions with an objective format. The exam will last two hours and include 120 questions. The preliminary exam will consist of just one General Studies paper. Since this exam is qualifying, the results will not be carried over to subsequent evaluations.

UPPSC BEO Mains Exam Pattern
Those who clear the preliminary exam will be considered for the main exam. Two papers make up the main exam: General Studies and General Hindi with Essays. An offline written exam serves as the main examination format for the Uttar Pradesh PSC BEO exam. The General Studies paper will consist of the following sections, and each paper will be worth 200 marks.

The General Hindi and Essay Paper will consist of two sections. For General Hindi, the first section will carry 100 marks, while for Hindi Essay, the second section will carry 100 marks.
- S.C/S.T candidates failing to secure a minimum of 35% marks in the Prelims/Mains examination will not be considered eligible.
- Candidates from other categories must achieve a minimum of 40% in the Prelims/Mains examination to qualify for the post.
- Before moving on to the next round of interviews, qualified applicants from the Mains examination will have to pass a medical exam.
