JKSET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To apply for JKSET/LASET 2026, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:
- General category candidates must have at least 55% marks in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from a UGC-recognized university.
- OBC (NCL), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates must have at least 50% marks in their Master’s Degree.
- Candidates appearing in the final year or awaiting Master’s results can also apply by submitting a Bonafide Certificate from their institution. Such candidates must obtain the required qualifying marks within two years from the declaration of the JKSET/LASET result; otherwise, their candidature will be cancelled.
- Candidates who completed their Master’s examination on or before 19 September 1991 and hold a Ph.D. are eligible for a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.
- Applicants should appear in the same subject as their Post-Graduation. If the subject is not available in JKSET/LASET, they may appear in the corresponding UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/ASRB NET examination.
- Candidates with foreign qualifications must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) before applying.
