OTET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
Every candidate must carefully read and follow the exam day guidelines mentioned on the OTET Admit Card 2026. Not following these rules can lead to serious consequences, including cancellation of the candidature.
- Reach the exam center at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
- Carry a valid photo ID as proof along with the admit card.
- Candidates must follow the seating arrangement as mentioned on the admit card.
- Any malpractice or unfair means will lead to immediate cancellation of candidacy.
- Candidates must follow all instructions of the invigilator.
Validity of OTET Certificate
The OTET certificate carries lifetime validity for every candidate who clears the exam. This was extended from the earlier 7-year limit through a government resolution aligned with NCTE norms. Additionally, the exam places no ceiling on attempts, so candidates remain free to sit for OTET again later, even after qualifying, if they want to push their score higher.
- Permanent Validity: The certificate, once earned, stays usable for a candidate’s full teaching career without needing renewal.
- Applies Retroactively: Past qualifiers from 2012 onward fall under this lifetime rule automatically, with no separate application needed.
- Unlimited Attempts: Candidates are not capped on the number of times they may appear for OTET.
- Reattempting for a Better Score: Even after qualifying, candidates may sit for the exam again in a later cycle to raise their percentage.
