UGC NET 2021 Notification: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the UGC NET 2021 (December 2020 Cycle) exam on February 02, 2021, at the official website @ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The University Grants Commission (UGC), the National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Through this exam, Indian candidates are selected for the post of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian Universities and Colleges. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria shall apply online through the link that is given below.

Update: National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the UGC NET 2021 December 2020 Cycle (May 2021) notification & exam date on its official websites ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The Age Limit for JRF is increased to 31 years this year.

The online application link is active on the official website, which is below in the article, the candidates can apply for the UGC NET 2021 (May 2021) from February 02 to March 02, 2021. The last date to pay the application fee is March 03, 2021.

UGC NET 2021 Notification

UGC NET Notification and the registration is out on February 02, 2021. UGC NET Exam is conducted twice a year, once in June and then in December. Last year due to COVID-19, the exam was postponed. Until July 2018, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was responsible for conducting the UGC NET exam but from December 2018 onwards, NTA is conducting the UGC National Eligibility Test. Each year lakhs of candidates apply for UGC NET to become Assistant Professor and JRF in Indian Colleges & Universities. If we go by the figures of 2019, approximately 7.93 lakh candidates had taken the test. Therefore, it is expected that the figures might go up this year as well. UGC NET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Cracking UGC NET 2021 (December 2020 Cycle)is a good opportunity for the candidates who wish to make their career in the field of teaching. Therefore, for the convenience of the aspiring candidates, we have provided the eligibility criteria below.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent from UGC recognized Universities/Institutions.
  • Candidates should have scored:
    General Candidates: 55% marks
    Reserved Category Candidates: 50% marks.
  • Candidates, who are appearing in the final semester of the master’s degree can also apply.
  • Percentage relaxation is given to Ph.D. degree holders in aggregate marks.

Age Limit

Junior Research Fellowship(JRF) – For Junior Research Fellowship the upper age limit is 31 years as of March 01, 2021. The age limit is changed for this year’s exam. Previously the age limit was 30 years for JRF. However, age relaxation is given for the Reserved Category of Candidates.

Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor

Steps to Apply Online For UGC NET 2021

 

  1. Click on the link given below or visit the official website @ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
  2. Click on the button “New Registration” option in the list.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Click here to proceed”
  4. Fill up your details and submit.
  5. An Email & SMS is sent to the registered email ID and a Mobile number containing the Registration number and Password.
  6. Log in with the Registration number and Password and fill in all the important details asked there.
  7. Upload scanned copy of recent photograph and signature, left-hand thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.

UGC NET Exam Pattern

UGC NET 2021 Exam will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) only. The Online Test will consist of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ). There will be no break between the two papers. Check out the table that has been given below.
